I've been using my Hori Truck System for about a week now and have it on a rig. And I must say what a different it makes. It definitely adds to the realism and immersion and is well worth the price. I have no complaints and love using it. Whether you drive manual or automatic transmission it works great and I highly recommend it. My previous setup I used a Logitech G29 but using the Hori Truck System is a step up.

one thing I think a lot of people forget is that this isnt just a wheel. It's a truck wheel, Pedals, Shifter, Splitter shift topper, and a button box in one big kit. Start pricing all these out and you'll see that the price is not bad at all. 👍👍
@petarumiljanovic53215 сағат бұрын
For truck and bus games this is all and exactly what we need, and the price will eventually fall to 499€$ too, which is triple less than moza truck ecosystem. Hori setup is compact and complete, the wheel is twice better looking and more functional than moza one.

I've been looking forwards to finally seeing user-reviews on this product. The main point i'm getting from this is that it might be better not using shoes on the pedals, to get a bit more feel for the setup. The rotation is indeed pretty accurate, you might want to adjust the ingame wheel rotation simulation to 1800 as well (think it's in the gameplay option), and the sensitivity bar to the right, the non-linearity all the way to the left. (i saw you driving straight, with the hori almost pointed 90 degrees to the left... which i think might be the linearity. Thanks for the review though, much appreciated, taking it slow and with your good microphone/camera setup, the quality comes across very well. The Shifter actually sounds alot more solid than i expected, seeing i only saw one other user review, and just the Ets2 guys testing it before it even got in the consumers hands. And nope, not buying it, as my setup is already complete: DD-wheel with a max of 2160degrees rotation, heusinkveld sprint pedals and th8rs shifter with almar SKRS shifter... Well, basically set up for racing, with the additional trucking addons through the years... now if Hori wouldhave built this thing 6 years earlier, i would probably have bought it. Thanks again for the video, enjoyed that.

The wheel itself looks to be a nice quality. Does the leather feel soft (realistic), or is it more solid feeling like a G29? Obviously, for the price, $650 is a lot, especially as it’s gear driven as opposed to Direct Drive. But for truck sims, which this is for, I don’t think DD is really needed. I’d imagine if they went that route, the price would have been even more excessive! The real let down however is the pedals. Not only is the base tiny, but there is no grip to the floor whatsoever. Surely someone in the design team must have thought a completely flat plastic base is unsuitable - at least have some grips to create some sort of friction!!! Overall though, it’s good to see this and Moza’s attempt of opening up the market for this type of wheel. Hopefully it encourages more to be made in the future!
@dustojnikhummer19 сағат бұрын
I would argue with the amount of buttons its fair, considering you don't need 4 different USB peripherals to get all of that.
@The_One_Over_There19 сағат бұрын
Yeah but like you said, DD for just ETS2 and ATS (Which i use my wheel for 90% of the time). Just seems unnecessary. Plus, I've looked up what a basic set of DD, plus wheel, plus button box, plus shifter, would cost so i'd have some similar in terns of buttons and such, And i kept ending up with prices that were considerably more expensive. So for what it does offer, In this economy. I too don't really feel like it's all that odd.

I really like the idea of a Truck Sim dedicatd rig, but as someone who also plays BeamNG, I’m not very happy about having to switch setup everytime, and it’s also quite expensive for someone with a limited bugdet like me.
@deputykittay82811 сағат бұрын
If youve actually done research its not expensive, ive seen trucker setups that just for the wheel and the base its a few grand alone, not including shifter, pedals ect so all of this for less than a grand is actually really cheap. If you dont want to switch setups then this isnt really a wheel for you unless you have a dedicated area for just the trucking setup

Honestly, thank you for this. I've held off of pre-ordering this because I was concerned of so many variables with the system. One thing I would love to know is, Do you find the angle of the wheel to be too upright, or just about right? As a UK based Truck Driver, the wheel just looks too upright with todays trucks to be comfortable in my opinion but I'd love to know your opinion on it.

Great review video. I feel like this system is good, but it’s really too expensive. At present, it seems that there is still a lot of room for improvement. I feel that we should wait for the launch of the second or third generation products. It might be the best time to buy. In addition, it is recommended that the game scene during the demonstration operation should be bright during the day. Avoid dark in-game situations that make it difficult to see how you interact with the game content. p.s I use Google Translate, please forgive me if the meaning is wrong.

1:50 thats actually super awesome.. i use a T150 with a tablet set up as dashboard and emulating the controls through simhub and then setting in all in game was a really long and tedious process which i messed up numerous times. Having the controls work out of the box is really amazing. Also 650 usd might seem a lot for a belt or gear driven wheel, but the "same" DD setup from moza, R5 with extra pedal, tsw truck wheel and stalks that go under the wheel is 1200 usd without a shifter which is another 180 usd and it still does not have a table clump with which you could angle the wheel. What i am afraid of is the pedal set and the shifter. If this wheel would work with my t3pa pedal set and i could take the shifter off and just use the button box because i already have a modded th8a shifter.. i would be the happiest person this upcoming christmas.

For a few years now I've had my Logitech G29; even a few years ago bought a proper converted truck shifter with Range and split so all up probably spent most of that 500 GBP for mine on that setup. So with this having everything on it I agree, I think it's more than worth it. Just wonder if it will fit my stand or not. If not the pedals won't be an issue for me as I have a small desk with a kind of rest across the back that the pedals will go up against. I have more issues staying put myself with my chair being on wheels. 🤣🤣

I'm glad you got one that doesn't have the Force Feedback steering issue. But for mine, when using Force Feedback the wheel slips, like the gear tooth was missing, when I was turning left. I know another person of reddit who experienced the same issue, and he's got a replacement coming.
@FlavorMcNubs22 сағат бұрын
Important note about "it works with Snowrunner" ... Force feedback and shifting currently do not work with Snowrunner according to Hori's compat list. Hopefully that'll change at some point, but Snowrunner in notoriously bad at that on other wheels as well so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Just fyi the engine vibration force feedback is a truck sim thing, it's in the force feedback settings and I have it on something like 5% so I'd advise turning your wheel force feedback up again and turning this setting down and you'll have much better road feel

Honestly $500 for something that costs about $150 to build isn't much of a deal in my mind. I do agree that the angle of the wheel and diameter is superior to the competitors. I don't get why these companies can just make proper shifters that sit on the floor with a long neck and traditional throw. These are essentially racing shifters with a modification to in the design for full H splitter shifting. I have never been a fan of the pedal designs. Your feet do not rest comfortably like they would in a real truck, the angle is all wrong and really should have longer foot boards (though I am sure someone has made extended boards as a retro fit). These foot pedals also slip and slide all over the floor, and have no real weight to keep them in place. user experience is everything for those of us that play ATS, or ETS2. I've wanted a rig like that for years, but they are ALWAYS too bloody expensive and cheap ones don't have 900 degree or greater turning lock to lock, clicky buttons (really great for streaming and recording), and overly light pedal with a cheap shifter without H patterns.
@SonnoMaku5 сағат бұрын
How do people mount other sim truck shifters that would be on the floor? Seems like the base would have to be pretty heavy so it stays in place while on the floor with you shifting. I wonder how they'd do that without increasing the price because this was made with desk mounting in mind so you don't need to spend more on a cockpit to mount everything. It would be nice though.

I had this on pre-order but just recently cancelled my order, this video has confirmed I made the correct decision for me I think. No grip on the pedals and the cable coming out the back so if you jam something behind it could get damaged was a slight issue but the big one is accessing the buttons behind the gear stick looks too hard especially when the gear stick was pushed forward. Maybe wait for a V2 and hope they fix these problems.

G'day mate, not trying to have a go at you but your settings are out a bit, you can tell by how much your turning the wheel and how much the in game steering wheel turns they don't match and you don't need to use the clutch after you move off just like IRL, I would readjust your settings and try again and you will find that the wheel will feel so much better. The only thing I don't like about this is the buttons behind the shifter are quite hard to get to.

Actually when he does the U turn both his wheel and ingame goes 2 and a half turns to lock, but I think hemight have his steering non-linearity turned up becuase it does look odd. I think it's clear this guy isn't a trucker irl so he may not even be aware how to to float gears in a big rig so I don't think it's unreasnable for him to be running basic manual
@roanegaming12 сағат бұрын
@@DannyDan2k13 G'day Danny, yes your right about it matching the complete radius but like you said it is the linearity that looks off because half way through the wheel rotation it does not match up, The clutch is just my OCD as this is a simulator I just think it should be played that way lol, like I said not having a go at Romeo's Relics he has made a great vid here as not many people that did vids on the Hori showed as much detail. 🙂

this wheel could've been a GREAT wheel if it wasn't using the same gear based force feedback system that the G25/G27/G29/G920 are using. because, if you already have something like a any of the Logitech wheels i mentioned above, you can just buy a Truck sim conversion kit for the Logitech wheel which would cost you a fraction of this setup and pretty much give you more or less the same functionality minus the 1800 degree turn radius. however, being that this is a HORI wheel, and Hori are NOT known for making good quality "racing wheels" or "sim wheels", the cost of nearly 600$ for something like this coming from a brand that has only been manufacturing shitty bungie cord type wheels for Mario Kart for the past nearly 1.5 decades.... idk if they can be trusted being that this is quite literally their first try at high end non-DD sim wheel
