@@FishinwithGRAMPS Haha idk… I do know this series is going to replace the Colt very soon, and I really can’t spot any differences between them. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 Hey also just curious, when you got yours did it have plastic wrap on the handle? I got mine from tackle warehouse and it didn’t have any plastic on it, never saw that before, was wondering if it was used.

As always I like looking in your archive of videos for fishing info. I just picked up a SLX XT and paired it with a Dobyns Maverick mag heavy rod from American Legacy today. I played with it in back yard and can't wait to use it on the water. Again!!! Thank you for your videos

I ended up giving it to my brother when he broke a rod and I forgot about it. He likes it a lot, uses for punching and swim jigs.

It cant take boat flippin a two pounder. Mine snapped like a twig !!! Go with the Fury or higher grade. I also have a champion, sierra and a Fury

Sup gramps. Don't have any rods that cost 99. Combos about 135 on sale shimano. Was 12yrs old when allowed to ride bike off street with friends. Always to bait store and finishing. At bait shop had discount areas and mystery bags lol. Was 1984 and we all bought same combo, 2 each actually, was 10 bucks each all the same. We still use today. In 2020 Dan and I both cought PB on those Shakespeare spinning combos. Dan cought 4lb 8oz. I cought 6lb 13oz same day lol. I'm slowly upgrading rods and reels. Since can't hunt anymore can put xtra money to fishing. Being disabled be 1 combo a year lol. Can't wait for you to beat your PB on that rod. Ty tc

Googan green rods I would like too see if you was taking out an blindfolded if you could tell the difference between the googan green rod an the new dabin rod that would be an interesting challenge which one really cast better at $99

I would know which was which by the feel of the handle. They are both great for the money. I don't have any water time with the Maverick, but the Green has already won a thumbs up from me.

How good of a rod has this been for you? I’m looking for a solid rod for my frogging and flipping stick. I’ve got a quantum smoke s3 that I think will pair with a 7ft heavy.
