Simply the best primer I have been able to find on understanding rod differences, qualities, mechanics, etc.! Thanks guys ... this was awesome!

Awesome video i have the colt and the fury with curado reels. Balance and lightweight my favorite rods for sure

Love my fury series. But I have to say the 702 is a little under powered for smallmouth. I fish my Ned and Drop shots on the 703 8-17. These open water Lake Mead and Mojave smallies have serious power. Just my opinion, I use the 702 as a trout rod with a 2000 reel. Thoughts? Great show
@strategicangling20062 жыл бұрын
Depends on the lineup you choose for the 702. I agree it’s more of a medium light, but I caught plenty of 4-5 pound smallies on the 702dx before I upgraded to the 722 DRX. I think it’s a nose hook drop shot setup only, and excels in areas with no cover.

The warranty is the reason I switched everything over to Dobyns. And because I feel they have the best feeling rods made.

Which casting rod would you choose (between 733 champ xp and 763 champ xp) for shakey head? (1/8 and 3/16 jighead) My lineup now includes fury 703c, champ xp 733c, champ xp 763c, champ xp 734c
@pdfahie2 жыл бұрын
I just ordered a champion 733c for light Texas rig finesse worms, which is the technique I end up using the most in eastern pa. Correct choice? I was using the fury 703, which I liked but was hoping to step up the feel. I was going to use the fury 703c for chatterbaits for now. Thinking next rod purchase will be champion 734c. Recommendations?
@strategicangling20062 жыл бұрын
Hey Patrick I think you will like the Champ 733c for that, as its a great option for weightless, light weight texas rigging. I like to use mine for weightless flukes with flurocarbon and weightless texas rigs. What are you wanting to use the next rod for?
@pdfahie2 жыл бұрын
@@strategicangling2006 I’m not sure exactly what I will use the next rod for. If I ever catch a fish on a chatterbait, then maybe a chatterbait? In the running will be swim jig, swinging swim jig, spinnerbait or maybe a jig. I also have a megabass Levante perfect pitch. It seems like it is rated very similar to the 734 as far as techniques, but it might be closer to a 735. I may start using the Levante for lighter 5-6” swim baits if it can handle them, we’ll have to see.

Great episode about dobyns rods. I've never had one but have heard great things about them. Do we need to be subscribed to the mailing list as well to be eligible? Or is it one or the other?

I need a new jig rod. I dont have a boat and walk around ponds and reservoirs. I throw 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. I have multiple furys but want something sweet. What would you suggest?

Would you recommend a DC705CB or a KD735CB for 1.5 squarebills?

Both are good options, I prefer 705cb for closer quarters.

Hey I looking for a good chatter bait/froggin rod that is glass & can be an all purpose rod as well in 7ft. No more than $200 which rod from Dobbyns is best for me??

I use Sierra series I fish Okeechobee and want a popping frog rod that won't wear me out Wich one do I get
@strategicangling20063 жыл бұрын
If you where going sierra series i would say the SA735C. If you did however want to club up the Champ XP736C is one of the best frog options on earth.

@luckylucky90063 жыл бұрын
So what is the best rod you make that is 7"2 & at $200 price point that will handle all fishing application and all size baits as well as any size fish. Let's face it you can only fish with one rod at a time. Plus the average Joe can't afford more than more one rod..
