@@dariuslynard158 their point guards are still handling the ball heavy but Tatum is definitely improving as a playmaker and there’s reason to believe he can average 6-7 assists in his prime. @@wyattworld47 The current point guards are not offensive options ahead of the Jays. Jayson doesn't have any shooters to pass to outside of Grant Williams. I believe his playmaking is developing but he and JB need a better around them. If Jayson is "soft" and getting 30 points in 5 straight games then I guess it's not an issue. Anyone who says JT doesn't pass the ball doesn't watch the Celtics games. I am a Cs fan and I have seen him create opportunities night after night but our other guys don't score. Notice how the ppl who critique JT and JB for being selfish players or how those two hate each other are mostly coming from other fan bases or executives from opposing teams and why is this? It’s because all 29 other franchises would trade an arm and leg to have either Tatum and brown or one or the other on their team they all know how good they are and what they can add to their teams so they build these narratives to destroy the Celtics from within

No question the Celtics got better. Just injuries to Brown slowed them down. Replacing Kemba with Schroeder makes you better. He is healthy and defends. Adding Horford makes you better. Richardson is a good player. Kanter as a 3rd center. Plus G Williams is in better shape, better shooter...

Richardson has been very good, bench is definitely better. Their record doesn't show how good this team can be a lot of their lost is from close games in beginning of the season and due to Brown injury. I hope he knows its doesn't matter if we win or lose, we may not be healthy come playoff time sometimes, it's helped us and its hurt us. This is what the league is about, having already accomplished what he's accomplished at his age. With Jaylen's and Rob Williams' progression we're honored to witness their careers grow as celtics. Ime is a new coach who's already shown signs it and overall I'm slightly confident about our real chance if healthy every season. He's already the face of the league.

It's always great that players give interviews like these but they decline it all the time and thus, you have this: So they don't know you, but yeah I'm not the most vocal and I talk to my teammates all the time. In life, this will be done all the time for all kinds of things, stars or the "ordinary" ppl. I think many of the players have to really keep a psychologist in their staff/personal crew because it's a lot of exposure to deal with. Here he's addressing a criticism that he admits is true but then find it baffling that ppl get to make the statement when "they don't know you." Keep working, keep improving - learn from the greats and do what is necessary to win, on and off the court.

His first sentence is exactly what Lebron James said in an interview in this league of today you have to go above an beyond “ the league is that talented”

Stop hating on the players it is the coach they have a bad rotation and they take Tatum out when he gets a hot hand then want him to make 30 3s a game when he has more success playing aggressive

There’s gonna come a time..soon.. that he needs to become more like Kevin Garnett. He may not like it but it’s the truth. This team needs someone to jump start them if they ever want to win anything

They just need a pure point guard. Scoring point guards obviously don’t fit with the Jay’s. Get them a playmaker who can get them quick easy buckets and it will open up their whole game

The Celtics had Rondo as a facilitator, but with no weapons after the big 3 left. Now the Celtics have weapons with no facilitator. All Celtics point gaurds have been score first point gaurds.

This is the key right here. Fans need to stop thinking Tatum and Brown are playmakers cause thats not who they are. If they could get a PG that's willing to bring the ball up the court and be a facilitator while adding or developing a couple of 3 and D guys then this team is set. Until that changes the Celtics won't be a contender. The Clippers have the same problem.

Sorry but Tay Tay talks through playing the game his way. I’ve enjoyed watching him play on the Celtics and thank god Danny Ainge drafted him because we would not be very good without him and he would have been on the lakers if they had some common sense and didn’t pick Lonzo ball.

C's fan here, you get criticized because you come off as uninterested in doing everything necessary to win titles when speaking with Boston media. You're always going to get criticized, that's part of the gig and a big reason you make so much money. Get your teammates involved consistently and work on your leadership skills, most of the fanbase loves your game and your potential.

Tatum is a really good player and will be an all-star pretty much ever year but he's probably not good enough yet to be a first player on a championship team. If they somehow find a way for Tatum to be 1A then Boston will start winning.
