The OM body style sounds good playing any style of music. It even sounds a little like a dred on the bluegrass stuff.

Martins, to me project more sound. Both Gibson & Taylor sound nice but you're correct.....when you hear a Martin being played you know know it's a Martin. I've got a Martin HD-28 and it is sweet.

Just a PSA- old Martin guitars do have a truss rod, but they are non adjustable. Adjustable truss rods were introduced in 1986 in Martin guitars.

Besides the great playing and sound, I love the interior of the room. No blimmin 'straight lines' or modern HGTV crap, just an old comfy couch, an old rug an some simple lamps. The man's got style!

Very pingy/thumpy attack and a lack of breathy upper midrange response. The bass response is still nice. Twelve years of ageing not included!
