Just to shed some accuracy on this , the wheelbase of the 1/8 HPI WR8 Flux is 300mm The Losi Ten SCTE 1/10 truck is 334mm wheelbase 😳 The Traxxas Rally 1/8 is wheelbase 324mm The Maverick quantum flux is 322mm The Hobao Hyper GT Rally wheelbase is 329mm So the HPI WR8 is certainly not a 1/8 car 🤔 😉👍 Great video

Yeah I can't stand Traxxarse, only owned one (mini revo vxl) in my whole rc career! They're pricing are ridiculous, and the bullshit connectors are rubbish, just because they know that the people who buy their products are usually begginers or don't know any better so they get sucked into buying traxxas chargers and batteries. I feel so sorry for poor HPI, least theyre going to be around for a while longer, providing traxxas dont sue them again... I just got a brand new wr8 flux yesterday, wrc bugeye Impreza, cant wait to get it out once the weather drys up a bit :)

That is beautiful...I love WRC WRX and I loved HPI products prior to their bankruptcy...I didn't suspect they'd succumb and was caught off guard. Had I known, I would have aggressively loaded up on parts as the listings for Micro RS4 and Nitro RS4 3 are sparse.

I have the super rare Bucky Lasek Subaru body, the Hoonigan and the Monster bodies. Just did a complete 100% teardown of a Ken Block I picked up a few years ago. Car is amazing and it doesn't at all surprise me that they didn't really change. Doesn't need changed.

Thanks for the comparison, this is of great importance to my mission of creating a Fiesta ST out of my Subaru WRC! You mentioned it, but somehow I failed to register that swapping around the body mount holder alone wouldn't suffice. I turned it the other way around, but then found the body posts were too short. Luckily I found a set of body post extenders and ordered them. Hopefully that will do!

Your WR8 Ken Block body looks really good. The one I had was bought I'm guessing late 2018 and it was the last generation Ken Block body and my god did it look amazing! The two RC's that I wish I kept where the Ken Block WR8 and the Helion Avenge. Like I said many times before the only reason I did not keep the wr8 was because I was blowing through aftermarket wheels an HPI Parts have always been an issue. I feel like this is an RC that'll never lose its value and I hope HPI will resolve any parts shortage issues. And believe it or not the new WRX body I feel like may handle even better!

Just purchased this car and I really like it. As far as the transmitter I received a TF-50 instead of the TF-41. What is your take on that change? Nowhere online can I find that it comes with this remote but it is detailed in the manual that came in the box.

@Al Diggity Never owned the TF-50 but I've seen a lot of the releases over the last month or so coming with them. I know this was out of stock for a while this could have been the reason. So far all the reviews I've seen have been all positive on this controller.

@Jason Perrin RC That's right! I think the last one I remember seeing on the channel was the Felony. IMO this was the best Rally RC ever made. Most get hung up on it's size but if you can get past that it's one great RC. And I love my Rally Cars😊

I have a HPI bullet flux few years back, really good looking chassis body and electronics, i sold it very cheap because of the weak plastic of the HPI products, run it one moderate jump on a dirt BMX track the landed face down less than 5 feet at my first try 😳 and both shock tower broke in half, the design of this new rally car have the same layout of the HPI Bullet, the look of the plastic material look the same as before, i know this one will not design for jumps, but just saying they need to invest on parts that can flex and take some punishment. (The same BMX tracks i ran my old Arrma nero and Axial Yeti score have no issues and received a lot of bad landings).

I must say I have not a good experience s with HPI like was mentioned the plastic is very cheap and breaks so easily 😕 😢. I was pissed off 😤 the Vattera V100 is way better which losi is now running great set up !!never had issues

@@davidhuffaker4559 HPI tried to stay competitive but never reach level of losi, traxxas, associated or axial durability, because of there weak plastic material used on there RC, one manufacturer also have even worst plastic for me is Tamiya, there kit are very inspiring but the price are expensive and very fragile plastic.

@Tucker Nowak No question! This is the best rally car ever made let alone one of the most fun RC's I own. Was so happy HPI brought it back. Some get hooked on the size since it is no where close to a traditional 8th scale buggy but fun is fun. Still have not taken it off-road. Waiting for the baseball fields to dry out by me. Maybe another month for that😤

The wing would look funny with silver underspray since you'd see it. That's why it looks different. It's blue without silver underspray.

Nah if you turn the wing upside down the silver underspray is there. They just sprayed the coat of blue more heavier than the car body.

@Crunchy Very easy, there are none. Until HPI releases options or clears this is it for now. This was the same for the gen 1. This car has very specific proportions that a typical 10th scale or typical 8th scale body will not fit.

Nice, but it's hard as hell to find HPI parts or even for upgrades. Actually, it's hard to even find HPI RC's in Hobby Stores.

@Rakhu Rakhu Hobby stores, is a no go. You may find one RC but that will be it. Online is going to be your friend. Either Hobby Recreation or ebay. I will say since they have not changed much on most of the releases so a lot of the old parts will fit. That's what worked for me on the Savage XL.

HPI Finally dropped the belt… the center shaft imo I think it gives the cars a rotational mass to the side vs the belt runs front to back so it’ll keep it straighter than not nut then again, how much rotational mass can a thin shaft have.., love the platform and body choose most of all. I just WISHHHH that I could find a kit or just the body for 1/8-1/7 scale.

Urban myths. Motor spins opposite direction of the shaft and the 3 diffs. Cancels the effect. People said the same thing about the TC3 cars.

@@thethrottlecracker5954 … RE: busted myth debunked., all would have to be equal mass and equally inverted in cemetery but even with that you still have precision. You wouldn’t notice this unless you were doing a 100mph+ speed run. Some chassis designs may be better than others but I don’t think rc has gotten that deep into physics in order to achieve a specific goal. We’ve been able to reach 190mph in a straight line but besides the technology for more power the only preventative in being able to active that mechanically was titanium and carbon fiber center drive stays shafts. This is bcs drive shafts NEVER needed to be atomically correct until they spun at 70,000rpm. So we’re just now scratching the surface on how or weather other contributing rotating mass may or may not effect a moving object.

@@toysforboysrc 100% correct. When I was racing my tc3, I always made the argument that if the effect is there, you would have to be in the top 1% of racers to notice it. Or be negatively affected by it. That being said, the shaft drive cars were noticeably quicker from a dead stop.

@babupranav Lexan cover will introduce heat unless it is drilled out to dissipate heat but there goes the dust proof. To be honest even on my MT's the guards are more for rocks and they still get in there. Just more to do after the run. Part of the maintenance😊

The chassis does get filled up with debris n locks up steering. Car handles amazing on tarmac in my opinion. As soon as u let go of throttle the car rotated beautifully

Other than ZD racing and ARRMA who is is making 1:5 - 1:7 scale RC cars based on the real thing. In fact the ARRMA and ZD Racing are the only RC companies that come close to real scale rc cars this big but they have made up names. You don't see any big scale rc cars done right like this from Tamiya, Traxxas etc.. Hobao do but they are in ARMMA category. I would love ARMMA or TRAXXAS or any other RC company to start making detailed RC Rally and Race cars in BIG scale format. I can't do with 1:10 scale anymore. I have an addiction for 1:5 scale to 1:7 scale for RC cars. Which RC company is going to hear my comment and lead with proper big scale rally and race cars. More and more people would love big scale rc cars. I know trucks, truggies, stadium trucks, monster trucks are the popular but i do genuinly think there would be a market for big scale off road race cars and racing cars. Pleeeease :/

@MaxPower211983 I feel your passion but there are a few. Kyosho makes the Inferno GT2. It is a slightly larger 8th scale. Little smaller than the Felony. Way more scale than any Arrma. Losi had some amazing large scale models, both are disco'd but I have both on the channel. Losi 5ive Mini WRC and the Losi 6ix which was a Audi R8. Two of the best looking on-road RTR RC's you are ever going to find. I'm hoping by some grace they make them again. And lastly still in production is the 5th scale FG Sportline 4WD 510 electric and gas. Some of the most realistic on-road cars you will find to date. On my wish list but I need to stop buying all of these other RC's to get it😊 There are a few other brands that make 5th rally cars but these are the ones that come on the top of my list. Oh yeah KpopRC has a nasty MCD Rally gas that he was converting to electric with Cardinal Racing. Check that out if you get the chance. Sorry for the book in advance😊

All I intend is for brands to potentially see and realize the demand for bigger scale Rally and Race cars, or On Road cars, dream cars if you will. So many thanks for your reply. If I may add to this. Yes the FG sportsline in 2WD and 4WD are amazing. My hope is that there will be huge success for HPI re releasing the 1:8 scale Off Road cars in particular the WR8 Flux and Nitro Subaru Rally car, that this will stimulate the market for other brands to push the bigger scale Rally and On Road Race cars. Because there never really was a popular market for cars. Just look how many 1:6 1:7 and 1:8 scale Rally and On Road RC cars there are. There are discontinued models as you say. But there really are not many at all. The few we do have from ARMMA, TRAXXAS, TAMIYA, HPI are so few and rarely released to market when compared to all the myriads of Buggies, Truggies, Trophy trucks, Stadium trucks and a huge amount of Monster trucks every year. These other platforms seem to dominate the market year in year out. It's Bizzare considering how many millions of rally and racing fans there are globally that the RC market for Off Road Rally cars and On Road Race cars platforms is so non existent compared to the others. For instance at one time in the past 80's to 90's you have RC Cars 1:10 scale by the myriads every year. Fast forward and trucks are the main sellers. This is why I would like to see more Real Scale 1:8, 1:7, 1:6, Rally and Road cars from any and all of the RC brands out there. Consider Axial. There are plenty of scale crawlers by just that one brand. Axial are good and well detailed to Tamiya level when Tamiya decide to release something. Can't say the same thing about all the other brands. Have a look and Google search and you won't find many 1:6 - 1:8 scale cars at all minus the discontinued models. I did a search for Off Road Rally and On Road RC cars on the website of my local hobby dealer for these bigger scales and there are non. Only bigger scales you see are Truggies, Trucks and Monster trucks. I rest my case and *sigh* in the hope to all that is wonderful in Racing On Road and Off Road cars, that fans of RC and the full scale sport will cry out for more cars... I would like to see releases of popular race cars and rally cars from racing legendary histories all the way to current. Wouldn't you love to see a MK 1 Ford Escort Rally? Lancia? Porsche 959 Rally. Racing Ferraris and McLaren's, VW cars, Lamborghini, Aston Martins. Where are the RC cars based on all these legendary racing and dream cars ?

I've always wished Arrma would make a rally version of the 6S Infraction. That would be absolutely awesome! Arrma has a lot of similar platforms so it should be possible. For instance, the 3S Granite can be converted to a Typhon, Senton, and Big Rock. I think the smaller 1/8th scale Infraction uses the same chassis as the Senton so that could definitely be converted to rally but I think bodies would be the main issue unless a company like Delta Plastics makes special bodies for it. MCD, Rovan, FG Modellsport, etc all make big 1/5th scale cars and I'm pretty sure Rovan has a 5th scale rally car but it's gas. Idk if the make an electric version. With all the hype about the re-release of the WR8, I'm hoping companies will take notice and realize people want a big ol electric rc rally car! Edit: I should have read you comment above me. Sorry!
