It's very interesting seeing the difference if this scene versus the same scene in the Netflix version. You can tell just by the tone of each scene that they come from two different accounts/perspectives (Emily Maitlis and Sam McAlister respectively). In this scene the palace (as in Prince Andrew and his staff) seems more aware of everything they're saying and is being more calculated than the Netflix version where they painted Prince Andrew as a child in a mans body (for lack of a better phrase) and his staff truly believing in him and what he said. I feel like the two versions are trying to tell different stories too which effects this scene as well as the entirety of the three episodes (which I am looking forward to watch). The Netflix version was Sam's story of her role, as well of the role of others, in the 95% that happened before the interview, whereas I feel like the Amazon version is going to look at the events from Emily's perspective before, during and after the interview. I want to make clear that both perspectives are valid and each version has a different story to tell so they are fundamentally going to be very different portrayals of the events surrounding this interview. I can't wait to watch the full thing

This amazon version was hurried in to fill the yawning gaps of credulity that such an interview could ever voluntarily be given. Of course they could only bridge those for the sheep and it will work a treat if they really have no strictly or enders to watch

I fast forwarded nearly all the maitliss stuff until interview as all the interesting stuff was about how they fictionalised the Palace behaviour leading up to the world's most unlikely interview. They made it is a credulous as possible but total fiction as Andy and the palace had no choice.

Very disappointing. Ruth Wilson was doing an imitation, not a performance (that silly deep voice?). Michael Sheehan is overrated and was wrong for the role. Again, more of a caricature. Writing was second-rate - they were portraying comms and journalism experienced professionals, however big the story was. These writers seemed to think they were all 17-year-olds on their first job. Scoop was much better.
