Is the resort family friendly? Any insights you can share about kids activities, welcome gifts or food menu?

I would say overall it’s not that kid friendly. The St. Regis nearby is more so as they have a kid play area by the pool. It’s more geared for adults here I’d say. I’d recommend calling the property and asking about the other questions you have as if it’s not in the video I don’t have the food menue. In our room they had 3 small pastries I guess you could call a welcome gift.

Amazing review, Josh! I am planning Asia trips and been watching your videos for a while. It's been super helpful! Also, my family booked this hotel for this weekend, but not many pictures or information was available online. I am so glad that I found your detailed review here. Since there was not a lot of information on restaurants on the official website, I booked one of the St regis restaurants, Toro, as my back up plan, based on the assumption they are close and in a walking distance. Would you say it is walkable from Edition to St. Regis?

Thanks for the awesome feedback! And I’m excited for your stay. The EDITION will happily take you over to the St. Regis with their golf carts. We went back and forth ourselves between properties and they made it easy.

It’s hard to choose, I would always stay at both if I go back as they are each so special in their own way. If you want the best service do EDITION. The better room design goes to St. Regis

Honestly, they are both equal in my book. They are both new, modern, and very luxurious. If you’re going for more than one night, I might recommend spending a few nights at both properties. The service at edition was just better overall. What kind of occasion are you going for?

Thank you for the amazing review. Headed in late April and I noticed your bathroom doesn’t have a tub yet but we are staying in the same room and all plunge rooms are advertised as having a separate tub now - was this recently? I’m wondering if that suite was unfinished and that the “shady spot” you mention in the bathroom is probably where they’re going to place the tub? Hope so because otherwise they need to correct that on the Bonvoy platform!

Just looked again - SUITES w/plunge don’t have the separate tub so just corrected myself - looks like a great property overall and appreciate the intel !

Hope you have an amazing stay! Not all rooms have tubs definitely reach out to property and I’m sure they can arrange a room with tub for you. The room we had was finished with no plans to add in a tub.

Josh, did you time how long of a walk from the hotel to the beach? It looks like a 30 minute walk lol because you did it in high speed.

Thank you for the feedback! Both EDITION properties in NYC look so subpar and basic for the price and compared to an EDITION like Riviera Maya I would be disappointed. My favorite NYC property is the New Ritz Nomad. I also want to visit the new luxury collection that used to be a Conrad. Looks impressive! They also just fully renovated the W Union Square. I would pick all those first over the EDITIONS.

I found your video with a search for Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai. My family is booked for an upcoming three day weekend. Thank you for posting your videos, I've subscribed to see your journey and rooms at my favorite hotel brand, Marriott. After viewing your video, I came to realize the property is not very close to the ocean. Quite a long walk and the views on lower floors might not even see the beach. The hotel looks beautiful. I love every aspect of the building. I don't mind the blank walls as much as you, but your advice is good and they should put up some pictures or something to help the walls. I can't wait to explore this new Marriott! Opportunities for improvement: It would be great to have more details about the hotel. Throughout the video you talked about many aspects of the property, but perhaps a single section where you outline the property, # rooms, # restaurants, parking versus valet. Also, perhaps list the types of rooms available; standard, supreme, suites, etc. Quick question, you mentioned renting a car. Did they have valet or self-parking?
