Just a note to say: I'll always give my honest opinion and reviews here, regardless of who has made something. I review subscription boxes, it's part of the job to be honest and discuss things pragmatically. Also just because a lot of the items in this box didn't totally rock my socks, doesn't reflect on my thoughts on Peter. He's great, and you won't find a better Harry Potter Book / authentic signature expert than him, genuinely. I also admire the effort that goes into designing these boxes, it's hard work I'll never deny that. I understand that TWT sent out an email and social posts about the pen but my comment still stands, a pen shouldn't be confusing on how it functions, and it was (which is a shame because it looked like a freakin' GRYFFINDOR SWORD!) Hi Cherry, I've seen Danny's Unboxing video and he teach to unplug the sword pen by pulling out the head cap, it is hard to pull out at first time

How fun was that?! Thank you for opening The Keep Collecting Box! 💚 I'll be sure that an owl is sent with the headmaster pin and a new pen for you. Every lion should own that pen. As you probably know by now, the sword pen cap simply pulls off. No twisting is required. Well, twisting is required to replace the ink cartridge, but that little piece shouldn't have lodged itself in the cap. 🙁 The hole in the cap is actually there for safety. If a child were to be choking on the cap, the hole allows them to breathe. Whoever came up with that is a genius. I am glad that you loved the Baoding balls! They are indeed made of metal and once you get the hang of them, they are relaxing... but they take "patience". 😉 The pass is something found in the wizard schools here. Mr. F found out about them and asked the headmaster if teachers could begin to use them. The pass has prevented a lot of unnecessary detentions since then. As we know, the caretaker doesn't trust students. The house robe greeting cards are still one of my favorite items in the box. I am glad you enjoyed them! Keep Collecting!

The pen lid hole will be for child safety all good quality pen lids have holes in case they are swallowed to make sure the person who has swallowed can still breathe. Avoids airway blockage.

Also, usually you don't unscrew that much, in case of a swivel pen or twist cap. It makes sense to just first pull. But I get that Cherry is a bit more flustered and hasty than you or me, unboxing everything slowly at home. I do think it's fixable, just try to screw it back on, with all its innards, and then pull the cap off when it's securely screwed on again. I just personally feel like that pen is a great item, so I'm kinda bummed Cherry didn't get to write with it.

I absolutely love this box. It was very thought out I believe. Idk how so many people were confused with the pen. The cap just pops off like so many other pens. 😂 The cap has a hole just like many pens with caps in case a baby or child swallowed it, there is an air hole for them to breathe. I have so many favorites with this box. I hope he does another. Well worth the price to me.

This is how it's supposed to be actually. In the books the crest of Ravenclaw is an eagle. The producers changed it to a raven in the movies to avoid confusion. Just because the house is called Ravenclaw it doesn't mean that is should be represented by ravens. It was just the last name of it's founder, Rowena Ravenclaw. 🤷‍♀️

This was my first box from TWT and I love Peter’s channel, so was so excited to order this box. As I’m in Australia it was quite expensive. I was very disappointed in the box and definitely don’t think it was worth the money. I’m Gryffindor and I know one of the items they had planned for box arrived broken and they had to come up with something else ( the badge) not my favourite thing but did love the pen and had no issues with taking cap off. Wouldn’t purchase another box in the future

I was kind of disappointed about the box. I really like Peter and his channel, and also the wizarding trunk had always such cool stuff inside their boxes, but this one wasn't that amazing what I thought it would be. Especially for this price.

The pen unscrews so you can change the inside when it runs out of ink. Put it back together and then just simply pull off the end and you can use it as a pen

I have been waiting for this video! ♥I'm a really big fan of Peter and ordered this box as soon as the sale started in autumn. When I finally got it last week..I was super disappointed and as I read your comment section and Peter's, looks like I'm not the only one. As I have seen Peter open so many subscription boxes I had such a high hopes. I was expecting more practical items. I didnt understand how the pen works either. I dont know is it "European problem" or something? :D The greeting cards were cool.. But then my The award for special services, the words werent even on the same line so really bad quality. I hated the gloves but I'm happy that you liked them! Ofc this box doesnt change my opinion about anyone or anything and I'm really proud of both of you and Peter! ♥

The Special Service to the School pin was a reference, I believe, to the one mentioned in Chamber of Secrets that Tom Riddle was given. It is where Ron saw Tom Riddle's name!

I honestly don't understand why people were confused about how to take a cap off a pen. I got mine took it out of the package and pulled the cap off like most pens work. It really amazed me to see the amount of people who couldn't figure it out.

The fact that so many people had an issue, shows there’s a design flaw and problem. The fact they had to send an email out to everyone proves that. I tried to pull the cap off, and it didn’t come off.

I also tried to pull off the cap first, but there are a lot if opens in subscription boxes that do twist pens so i understand people being confused. The hole in the tip is also misleading since it could lead to people thinking the tip twists out of it. Not everyone is familiar with the capped pens that have a hole at the tip of the cap (which is there to allow air to pass in the event the cap accidentally gets swallowed to prevent full air obstruction)

Not all pens come with lids that just pop off by pulling, some are twisted to reveal the pen. Which I believe is what Cherry was suggesting. It wasn’t clear, it was a design flaw. If a company has to send out socials about an item before and after it’s released says a lot. That’s not on Peter though, all this feed back from us all, including Cherry, it’s just a lesson learned for next time.

To be fair, many people seem to have had a similar issue since the company had to send out emails about it, so it's clearly an error on the pen itself. And Cherry's pen was also defective, it seems, since it broke entirely when she tried to unscrew it (something it should have been fine doing since it's refillable).

Unfortunately, the box was a big flop for me. I'm only keeping the potion and the schedule. Still haven't been able to open the pen despite heavy pulling on the cap. Everything else was just "meh." Don't know what I'm supposed to do with supersized gloves. If they were actual, usable gardening gloves, now that would have been cool! The piggy bank was low quality. The pins and award didn't appeal to me design-wise. Just didn't feel this box. I know a lot of thought went into it, but this one wasn't for me. Too bad it was so expensive. Not gonna get another one.

While i do agree with Cherry that having the hole gave the impression that it would be a twist pen...just so everyone knows...if there is a hole in the end of the cap of a pen, it is most likely put there as a safety precaution against it being a choking hazard. The hole allows some air to pass in case it were to become lodged in the air passage.

I was also disappointed by the box. I am a Ravenpuff (lol) and I felt Hufflepuffs items were a let down. I did like Ravenclaws. I didn't see the hole in the bottom for the pen, so I just pulled the cap off. My family, though, was also hit with the Confundus charm!! The pin you didn't get is just peter dressed as Dumbledore which, I do like Peter and the potter collector channel, I felt was a little narcissistic. All in all I liked maybe 3 of the items, which for the amount paid for the box is disappointing. P.S. I have never noticed, but I was watching with my family and they were distracted by your hair touching!! I never noticed or paid attention, but once they said I couldn't stop seeing it!! Lol.

I agree, the Hufflepuff items weren’t representative of our house, and it made this Hufflepuff sad. The bank was poorly painted, the “award” was chipped, and the box was just a flop for me. Danny’s items were great as always, but the box was way overpriced for what was included. Glad I wasn’t the only one disappointed by this one.

I know the pin was a picture Peter took awhile ago and it was Danny's idea to do it as a pin. However, I would feel odd putting that in a box I helped curate. I would feel it was a bit boastful. That's all I'm saying. I am also glad someone else felt this box didn't live up to expectations. I'm personally glad I didn't get it for Christmas. I would have been more upset I think.

I think the lid of the pen just pulls off, not screw off. Also, the pin looks like a portrait of Dumbledore but it’s actually Peter Kenneth dressed in his Head Master (Dumbledore) costume. I highly recommend you watch Peter’s unboxing video of this box as he explains everything well (obviously).

The dragon hide gloves are cool but won’t use them for anything and i like things I can use. Sorry you’re pen broke but it is very beautiful. I have seen that many people struggled with the pen. I would have probably too if I had gotten the box ( unfortunately I couldn't afford it. But to my understanding it is just a pull off cap. Maybe they should have included how to open it in the packaging. Still this was a strong box and really wish I could have afforded it.

I watch the potter collector channel sometimes and enjoy a lot of his content, but for me this box was a bit of a miss and I was glad I didn’t order it. The gloves were a good concept, but looked massive and probably could have been better executed. I like the design of the pen but as you say, it’s a pen and shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. The coin box looked great. The paper replicas were ok - I did find the use of the term school board jarring, as there certainly isn’t a school board for Hogwarts. Baoding balls looked nice, but not sure if I would use them, and hard to determine how good they would be as baoding balls without holding them. I’ve seen another video with both pins - not really to my taste, either of them. Overall - ok, not great.

What I didn't like the most about this box was the Americanisms: 'Hall pass', 'schedule', 'school board' the British terms for these things are used in the books and films so no excuse really. I pointed this out to Peter and his response was that he just didn't think about it.

I’m Canadian so not applicable to me, but I do know that in the USA the books were actually released with a special version - ex, the title of book 1 is Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone. So it is possible that some of the American terms instead of British ones are used in the books as well, though I doubt school board is, schedule might be

This bothered me so much. I could maybe understand someone new to HP assume things like this, but now it just looks like he didn't do any research or "fact-checking." A rookie mistake from someone who I thought should knows this stuff.

@@beth_m The box was $89.98 USD (including shipping.) I did receive Peters headmaster pin. The sword pen worked for me. The tip came off pretty easy. It’s $25 more than the regular bi-monthly subscription of $64.98 (including shipping.) It was way overpriced in my opinion. I wish a unique wand was included in this box instead of the gloves. I’m not a pin collector and this box had 2. I was very disappointed in this “special” collectors box.

Late to the party, but I appreciate the honesty on opening the box. Some of the items aren't really going to be everyone's cup of tea, and there's nothing wrong with not loving everything in the box. I mean, just based off my first impressions of the items, many of them are nice, but not particularly useful for everyone, like the award and the paper replicas, some are confusing without explanation (the pen and the bludgers), and some just don't particularly read Harry Potter on their own, like the crest pin (since it's more of an original design) and the gloves (if you remove the tag, there's nothing that reads as 'dragon hide' on their own). Overall, I personally only liked 3-4 items out of the 10 provided, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm going to assume the service award being put with Slytherin is supposed to be a nod towards Tom Riddles service award. If boxes ever go back to doing the School Year boxes, I think a cute one for Year 2 would be his service award with the slugs Ron kept puking up on it.

The pen is what people have gotten confused over the most, if I remember from another video it was a pull top pen, it was a bad design on his part to not make it a swivel top. In my opinion I was not a fan of the potter collector's box and I'm glad I didn't spend money on it but I did like the paper products the most.

I always want your honest opinion Cherry. I got the box, and because I have to buy in Australian dollars it cost over $100. I was a bit disappointed unfortunately.

Yeah I never had to have a Hall Pass, I feel like that’s only in some places. It’s definitely common in movies. Lol! Love your videos!! ❤️

One of my biggest issues with this box was except for a few items I couldn’t tell what each item represented. I had no idea what the hufflepuff items were until I read they cheat sheet and they didn’t hit the mark for representing hufflepuff for me. My Hufflepuff daughter felt the same. Overall I liked the box but didn’t feel I’d have been disappointed if I hadn’t bought it. My friend who saw the box loves it though so maybe I’m just never happy.
