This is on par with the Loot Crate subscriptions. A novelty at best and in the end, you wind up with a bunch of things you don't want from shows and movies you don't watch and only appreciate 15-20% of what you paid for. I did one year of Loot Crate and I can't even give the stuff I got away. Never again.

I honestly feel like I could buy a similar trunk to that for like half the price or less, paint it to be Harry Potter themed, and fill it with cheap stuff that's still higher quality than the crap this calendar came with, and I'd likely spend less money doing that too. Hair ties and pins are such garbage items to get in an advent calendar. Hell, instead of that bookmark, they could've actually given you a cheap feather pen, like the packaging suggested they did. Of course the big ostrich feather ones they used in the movie would be expencive, but there are cheap feather pens out there that cost like 5 pounds.

it was such a missed opportunity that the compact mirror wasn't in some way designed to look like the Ouroboros mirror. Anyone who has read the series will understand and get the reference. A lot of the nods to acotar in this calender seem to be quite generic really. (The chest of drawers is a really cool item and closer to the vibe i'd have been looking for) The ones everyone knows. At this point, you don't even have to have read the books to know these same references that get talked about all the time.
