It is my first night on my own! I get very emotional and sad because I miss my family. It's hard living on my own across the country.

Ariana many people go through the process of separation.Crying and sharing your emotional struggles are in fact healing moments that will help and strengthen you in the days/years to come. I adopted a child almost nineteen years ago so I understand your emotions somewhat because of her. I sense your pain through her similar experiences. Stay strengthened even through the tears. You are more than a conqueror in this battle. God loves you right where you are.....brave and beautiful!

Oh, hon....welcome to college out of state! Since you posted this 7 days ago, i hope you're feeling SO much better and that you've met some of your classmates! I think that it would have been a lot easier had you been able to move into a dorm or other student housing, so hopefully you'll find one or two classmates that live nearby.....and the greatest thing about living off campus is that you have so much more space! Atlanta is a GREAT town, and it has so much to offer. Take a deep breath, enjoy some quiet time, call your family, and have a GREAT day in class!! It gets better, I promise!! ❤

It's a huge change and being so far away from family and friends is hard but with time things will get easier and you'll find your own little community away from home. Ari, I moved from California to Louisiana after high school, for college. I felt 100% the same way you feel. It hurt, it was all I thought about, the culture was different than the West Coast, but it did get better. Day by day, I promise it gets better. Little did I know the amazing life long friends I’d make and I met my husband! We’ve been married for 25 years but together since college about 30+ years. Best thing you can do is get involved, even if you don’t want to or feel like it. Talk to the people sitting next to you in class, they are probably feeling the exact same way. You will do great! Just take it one day at a time. You got this! 🌸

Ari, I’m 25 and my entire family moved away a couple of years ago, a 22 hour drive away, and I STILL cry. You aren’t alone, and you’re allowed to take time to feel these things and let yourself cry. Crying is a good way to let ourselves heal and find our way. The waves will come and go, but never question why you’re feeling the way you are, never try to push it down, never feel silly for being upset. From one long distance daughter to another, we will get through this. Hugs.

Never ever apologise for crying.. it’s sadness and fear coming out in tears which helps release to make room for other things. You are in such a foreign situation and being soo far away from family/friends which everyone would struggle with. Hang in sweet girl. You are a gorgeous soul and once you get going at college and meet people then you will feel heaps better. But please never apologise for letting your emotions out and thank you for sharing your vulnerability as I’m sure lots of others will find this helpful if feeling the same. Much love and hugs, Maz 💜

Ari, it’s a huge jump to go from such a huge family always around to sudden silence. Your feelings are normal and expected. It’s okay. Take one day at a time. Call home regularly, call your siblings. They will be so excited to hear from their big sister. Call Hallie, call Alex. Their on their own too but a lot closer to home so they can update everyone’s goings on. Face time often with grandma a d aunt Bonnie. Know you are very well able to get through this and the semesters will go fast. College is always busy flies by quickly. That I can promise. My first night away from my family was the night before basic training. As soon as my folks left me at the hotel, I was like, "Oh no! I have made a huge mistake!" The first weekend of basic training we were kept busy during the day but nights I was so homesick and so was everyone else! Everyone was talking about ways to get out of their military contracts, one girl joked about sipping on cleaning supplies to create a medical emergency. Knowing everyone else felt the same actually calmed me down and helped me feel less overwhelmed. And staying busy really does help.

Aww, this is a throwback to when I moved alone. The first month was really hard, and I thought I had made the wrong decision because it felt hard and new. But I swear two years have passed now, and the level of personal growth I've experienced is mindblowing and I love it. And yes, it's really hard, and at the time I thought no one felt this way because it's really emotional on a deep level. But then I realized most people actually go through this and it's just a new season in life. Try to enjoy and don't be hard on yourself, it can time timee

I used to cry all the way back to texas from kentucky. It’s hard when you’re the one alone. And I was grown.

Like everyone else is saying, every college student goes through this whether you realize it or not. Try to get involved in as many activities as you can. Go out and explore your campus and surrounding areas. You’ll make friends in no time and have the best time of your life. We’re all rooting for you Ariana 🙌🏻

Hey there! Florida girly here! Publix definitely had Valentina. It’s just not with the rest of the hot sauces. It’s on the ethnic aisle. I know comfort foods can definitely help you feel better. Hope that helps!

Ariana, I have friendly advice for you. Please don’t show your weakness too much, because there are people who pray on that, and may take advantage of you. Girl, you hold your head up and be the queen you are! Stay steadfast and strong, and reach the goals you went there for. You can do it! Each day, look in the mirror and tell yourself “I’m strong, I’m beautiful, I’m smart, I can do this”. God bless you sweetie.👍🙏🏻

Like wash dishes…… it also help with you attending college everyday….. like not sleeping the day….. you can apply for a job. The secret to making friends is visiting the same place everyday❤

That was me my first night at my apartment! It just feels like a big chance so it induces a bit of panic. You made the right choice and will do great, the overwhelming feeling will subside.

Please Ariana don’t speak badly about your professors on your TikTok. I’d be afraid some internet jerk would send it to the school .

Agree! Wise not to disrespect a Professor! Unfortunately it looks as if her fans made a SCAD Little Ari sub and it's turned ugly toward her already. There are some of her unkind comments about her online behavior. She's getting loads of attention on the Atlanta SCAD student sites as well. Several staff, anonymously commented about what they won't tolerate.

Ariana you can do this! I know how you must feel. Think about how the other kids look up to you. If you can do this they will know that they can to. Maybe Hannah will join you next year. Think of how much fun you two can have together. Think about going home for visits. Put your whole self into school and making friends finding a job seeing more of the city. You can find lots to do. Be careful and have fun. You will see your family soon. You’ve got This.

Arianna, everybody cries because everybody's body needs that cleansing. Think about it this way what do you think you, your mom, and dad are going to feel when you walk across that stage and graduate? When you get your first job that you moved over 20hrs away to get your degree in? When you get your first raise? Your first promotion? It's very hard rn, but after this chapter you will be able to celebrate every accomplishment with them and share the excitement with them and feel the emotions of everyone in your family when you tell them. Remember hard work isn't easy work
