I remember when I was a teeny tiny little girl my wish was to be a ballerina. I had a music box that I treasured that had a little ballerina spinning/twirling. Well I just turned 61yo (but I’m still very lively - dance around the house all the time!) Dec 4 and I was never a ballet dancer but have never lost my love for it. I adore watching and never tire of the beauty, strength, courage… it takes to make a dance come alive. This was so much fun to watch. You are exquisite. for the leg warmers, you can add about three stitches and then pull it and make a tiny bow. it'll be like a scrunch thingy and they'll fit! and if you want to take the stiches off it won't leave a mark.

Love watching these!! Tip for press lift!!! I know they said that you push down on the back leg, which truly really helps, but it ALSO really helps if you almost not arch your back as much? I find that it’s hard for my partners to do press lifts when I don’t give them some of my ribs as a shelf. If you go into a press lift arabesque pulling up on your standing side, it’s easier for the guy’s hand to slide up your torso! Just a tip in case that helps!! You look great🥰

Can I just say, that as a mom- you’re doing a great job, and it’s nice for for kids to see that it’s ok to struggle- but if you keep working you will get there- you don’t give up. Luna, you are beautiful, and you are a beautiful dancer. When I used to feel like you do, and practice till my feet bled, i would come to a point where, I knew I was not getting anywhere, by trying to force my body into submission. I wouldn’t give up, but I would just maintain, and stop pushing so hard. Believe it or not, as soon as I stopped pushing myself sooo hard, the muscle memory would kick in, and all of the sudden I would have what it took, for whatever part I was going for. Listen to your body, let it talk to you. Sometimes, what it needs, is not severe repetition, but just consistency, and maintaining the drive. I’m too old for Nutcracker now, but I miss it with all of my heart, I miss ballet with all of my heart and soul. From one dancer to another, I have watched you for quite a while now, and I can see the talent in you, and the beauty when you dance, but Luna, you are way too hard on yourself. I well understand the drive and the want-to, and the need for perfection. I am still the worst perfectionist in the world! , and it took me years to understand when to back off, and just let my body do what it was trained for, and listen when it told me, to stop pushing, and it would do what I wanted it to do, when it was ready. Quitting is not what your heart truly wants, otherwise you would have never gone back to Ballet. I know you would regret it, if you quit again. Don’t think about quitting, or the reasons you quit before. This is now and that was then. Give yourself a chance to shine, and I know you will, at whatever part you would like to dance. We all want it now, and I know that very well, but like I said, it took years for me to realize that sometimes, life is a waiting room, and to use that time to perfect what I want to do in the future. Things happen for a reason. It is not that you are not meant to ever have the part that you want, it is just that maybe you aren’t meant to do it right now. So, if it takes another year to perfect and hone what you want to do, use the time to your advantage! ❤💜🎄😘. Can’t wait to see you dance again, in the Nutcracker!!
