Interesting. Ghana is going through an environmental crisis in which forests water bodies and so on are being destroyed at a rapid pace. This is in turn is creating a crisis for indigenous and even endemic species of animal and plants. I am also not fond on bringing in non native species especially when the native ones are under such threat. Although Ostriches may have existed in parts of Ghana. There may be evidence of this from Greater Accra region. But we dont even know if we have lions anymore. So focus should be on preserving and protecting such species. Western region is a high forest area. But it seems all the trees have been cut down to build this place. There are many species that may prove extremely useful to us in Ghana's most biodiverse region. Maybe the focus could have been on local species of plants and animals. Just to note Ghana has more bird species (+800) than mainland europe likewise lepidoptera. But our excesses are changing this
