I'm kind of ambivalent about the direction they're going. It seems like they're backtracking a bit on the dinosaurs being let loose in the world. At the very least they could come up with a better explanation for it. The problem with going with the idea of the dinosaurs not being able to adapt is that we've already been shown that they can adapt to the modern world. It would make more sense if, since the dinosaurs are shown to be pretty dangerous, they've been extirpated from populated areas by humans and are now relegated to more isolated places. The whole concern with dinosaurs reaching the mainland was the potential danger to humans and damaging the environment, but this makes it seem like a non-issue. Getting the DNA from the "three most colossal dinosaurs" sounds like an excuse plot that won't have much relevance to the film, but I could be wrong. The "sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades" is almost certainly related to inGen and the creation of the dinosaurs. I'm not sure exactly what it might be. Hopefully not something stupid.

The synopsis makes me apprehensive. I mean, Dominion set up the idea of dinosaurs just roaming around the world as part of the ecosystem and they just undid all that. Like walking all that back feels so dumb. They should have really leaned into that dinosaurs in our world aspect, like have the beginning show a world where people are just used to dinosaurs, people waiting for a parasaur to cross the road, small pterosaurs roosting on skyscrapers, big theropods hunting elephants in Africa.

Based on all the information we have so far, here's what I'm guessing the next movie will be like: It will start with a news coverage of how the dinosaurs are starting to die in certain areas, as well as explaining how some of them could actually be beneficial to us. One of the Big pharma guys will explain why finding the three biggest creatures can help us in creating a drug to save lives (even though the drug will most likely have no basis in actual science because this franchise doesn't care about actual science) and the expedition to find the three biggest creatures begins. Also the pharma guys will undoubtedly be evil, whether it be a twist like in Fallen Kingdom or if they slowly reveal their bad side throughout the movie. We'll cut to the family having a nice time out at sea, but either from a storm or the Mosasaurus, they crash on the island, or maybe this will be the opening scene of the movie. The scientists arrive on the island, as one of their three subjects is there. Quetzalcoatlus and Mosasaurus are obvious picks for sky and sea, as for land my money's on Dreadnoughtus or Brachiosaurus if it's a herbivore, and Spinosaurus if it's a carnivore. The scientists find the family as well as an old Ingen building, or multiple buildings. Or heck maybe it's that compound from JP3. Inside they find some shady stuff made by Ingen and/or Masrani (dino human hybrids aren't out of the question, though I doubt they'd go that far). They make it off the island, and the Big pharma guys try to kill the protagonists because they know too much about Ingen. Eventually the bad guys will either get eaten by a dinosaur (or dino human hybrid) or escape to star in Jurassic World 5. Most likely none of the protagonists will die, maybe one if they're feeling bold, and the kids of course won't die because we can't have child death in this franchise. It will end with the family going home happily, and Scarlett Johansen and Jonathan Bailey will probably get together, and the state of the dinosaurs and the ecosystems they're affecting will stay as a loose end, which I hope to God Jurassic World 5 explores.

Obviously we won't know fully until the films out, but man I can't help but be disappointed by this on multiple levels. - I *strongly* dislike the idea of dinosaurs going extinct outside of certain environments in a modern world, as it perpetuates the "dinosaurs were an evolutionary dead end that couldn't hack it" idea. Dinosaurs as a group were actually very resilient: they survived the Triassic-Jurassic extinction, which was one of the 5 biggest in Earth's history, as well as several significant upheaval over a much longer period than the Cenozoic. The K-T extinction was a perfect storm of destruction that would've been cataclysmic for any ecosystem. - for all the criticisms of Dominion & the trilogy as a whole, the concept of dinosaurs in the modern world away from secluded islands is perhaps the *best* idea they had, as it is something we haven't seen properly explored (even in the films themselves.) Now they're going back to tropical islands, & I don't care how you spin it, it's an inherently regressive step. - Dinosaurs being restricted to tropical zones "resembling the one in which they once thrived" is a deeply outmoded consideration given we've found dinosaur fossils in all sorts of biomes & environments. - It also makes a mockery out of the existential fears of a "Jurassic World" & defangs the concept entirely. Being creatures from outside our world, they should be more like invasive species - they should have been endangering *our world*, not the other way around! - Hate the "miracle cure" aspect being tied to three prehistoric creatures that *happen* to be the largest across three biomes, it's just offensively contrived. *Why* these three? *Why* does their size mean anything? Again, I'd like to be optimistic, given I do like Gareth Edwards & appreciate that they're leaving the characters from JW behind. But this has really soured me on the film, as it's the one direction I would've disliked the most.

Agreed, and goes against the whole "life finds away" philosophy and Ian Malcolm's warning, also, they are cloned dinosaurs with modern day species dna and genes implant and implemented in their genomes that can help adapt in our world, this plot sounds like it could ruin the franchise or this trilogy as well as ruined what the last 2 movies so to please those who want to go back to the island esthetics tbh, honestly we already have dinosaurs in the island story 5 times and sorta six if it's about dinosaurs in an isolated location like in the isolated location in the mountains tbh, I want a full on surviving and adapting with dinosaurs arc and stopping corporate and evil power controlling and abusing this new power, also we are all sick of the same plot all the time, I want something new tbh, so yeah

I don't like that tbh, I want dinosaurs in all climates and such, they are genetic altered cloned dinosaurs, they are nowhere near what their ancestors were like, they have modern species dna and genes in them that help them to adapt and survive, this goes against the whole "lifes finds away" philosophy, as well as Ian Malcolm's message about such, also they cannot close pandoras box, it is way too late, so yeah

Personally I think the 'expedition' format has been used a few too many times especially with Jurassic and monsterverse films. I'm no scriptwriter so I don't know what else they could've done but overall the synopsis feels a little formulaic if I'm being brutally honest. Still I'm hopeful Edwards will nail the atmosphere and aesthetic - I just hope the story and characters are a pleasant surprise.
@bradwhite58842 ай бұрын
Yeah, and the whole "dinosaurs in an isolated location" story have been done way too many times, 6 movies were about all that, and 5 of them where on an island while the 6th was inside of the mountain range, I want more lean in the chaos theory and full on descent into the dinosaurs ruling the world again, you can do so many story with the same plot, but it will go stale eventually, so yeah

I think Isla Muerta actually has a pretty good chance of being this films setting. It would have the same climate as Isla Sorna as well as the same ruins as seen from Trespasser. I say Muerta because it has been referenced as Site C before. (Jurassic World Evolution) and we know that there are old Ingen facility's here.

This definitely sounds like it has potential and perhaps they really are going to take that phrase to heart and actually bring things back to basics, as they've said. .. JP is just different. Needs to be treated as such and there's expectations that come with it. I just hope for a sense of wonder and fear, honestly. Hope it's a good story. Hope the run time is decent, too.

Alien vs Predator Ruins, Marvel hero-like character cast, Video game plot ... Man I´m not seeing the ¨David Koepp¨ back to Jurassic original style approach everybody was talking about. I know is a Synopsys, but it sounds too generic if you watch other David Koepp Synopsys... Mission Impossible, Ghost Town... Stir Echoes or Jurassic Park. They sound so much more interesting. My prediction is a Jurassic World 2.0.... Lots of nostalgia and recycling with minimum original elements, like the Alien Romulus movie workflow basically.

The dinosaurs being relegated to tropical environments and dying out everywhere else *reeks* of them trying to reset the status quo. While it certainly is believable that not all dinosaurs would adapt to modern Earth environments, the marketing campaign and ending of Dominion make the point of showing how they've integrated back into the greater animal kingdom. To then skip forward five years and say, "Yeah, no, they all died and are back in tropical areas" is... a choice. I'm having flashbacks to the sequel trilogy of Star Wars, where each movie seemed dead-set on undoing what came previously. What are we doing here, guys? What's the play?
@cryptodino3roberts7122 ай бұрын
I disagree that all the dinosaurs are restricted to the tropical regions of the planet. I think even still the main thread of coexisting is still going to be at play

Especially given we know dinosaurs did not just live in a tropical environments back in prehistory. But we know have dinosaurs found in cold regions of their time. This is just feeling big walk back. As you said this might go the Star Wars sequels route. Kinda resetting the status without undoing much the past.

There’s a real life phenomenon in which larger animals are less likely to get cancer despite having more cell biomass. It’s a bit paradoxical and we don’t fully understand why, but going after the largest dinosaurs could be them looking for a cure to cancer as eluded to by Dodgson in dominion.

Same, it is going backwards then forwards tbh, and goes against the franchise philosophy and warning that life will find away and we cannot close the genetical pandoras box anymore, genetic power is out and all that, also they are cloned dinosaurs and have dna and genes from modern day creatures that help them survive in our world then what their ancestors would not normally survive from, unless at the end of the movie somehow the genetic power unleashed that makes them all able to habit the climate a lot better, so yeah

I am not sure about the plot tbh, going back to the island or a new island? I don't want to go back to the island or any island tbh, we've done that already 5 times and 6th time is the same but in more of a bowl in the mountains on the mainland but still feels like an island tbh, only reason to go back to the island or any island should be used for plot convenience tbh, or go to an entirely new island but have one group go there and the rest elsewhere in the world and then meet somewhere for the final act and thats it, just that Also, making the dinosaurs unable to survive our climate and only survive in warmer climate is so out of nowhere and trying to be too realistic tbh, they are genetically altered clone dinosaurs, they aren't like our conventional dinosaurs or what we assume they are, maybe their genetics help them survive in climate that their not normally able to survive tbh, also remember the saying "life finds away", then why not make them find away to adapt to our climate, just saying, so yeah
The drug for mankind part sounds kinda stupid to me. I do like the idea of dinosaurs establishing in certain ecosystems rather than everywhere - idk that human element is kinda lame. I wanted to see a Jurassic park movie in like Yellowstone National Park - or like an indigenous reservation where people in poverty have to deal with this new threat/learn to live with it. Something DIFFERENT.
