First Oil Change on my Craftsman T240!

Fill the filter up to the bottom thread and let soak for 2 minutes before installing the filter per instructions.

So it takes 2 quarts of oil for the khoeler 7000 series? I also have the T240 and part of the 2 quarts is supposed to go in the oil filter to soak or am I supposed to use a little more?

@@kingadub2236 part of the 2 quarts goes in the filter. Changing the oil on the T240 is very simple. You shouldn't have any issues.

Plastic half gallon milk carton, cut almost in half leaving the cap on, place it under your oil filter…saves a lot of the clean up.

When you break the yellow thing, take the whole thing out, its a pipe thread, get a plug, use that. You cannot put the filter on full of oil, so don't try, soak & empty.

I have a T260 and hate the yellow pull out oil change thing...I have thought about the pipe plug but have been putting it off..now it's oil change time and think I will do the pipe plug this time.

You ever think about turning your tires straight and sliding your oil pan under the mower from the front? Gets you a lot closer.

No. The initial break in is five hours. Oil is changed every season.

The T240 T260 T310 were the very best tractors 2021 was the last year of these models they were built like little tanks..the newer versions 2022 to present are a downgrade from the original exclusive series cheaper build and corners cut glad I bought my T240 in 2021..

how were you able to start the engine without sitting on the seat? mine wont start or shuts off if i get off the seat.

I don't know. Mine always has. I can start it, and keep it running when I get off as long as I don't have the blades engaged. If they're engaged, and I get off the seat, the engine shuts off.

Make sure the blades are not engaged and put the parking brake on. Should start right up without you on the seat
