That fruit basket pattern from Corning is more than 20 years old! It’s my pattern!!! I’ve been married for 33 years and my son is 26. I got my set somewhere between those two. I’d buy any accompanying pieces within reason. Especially a matching cutting board if you ever find one. I know I can find them online but I love the thrill of the hunt. So far I only have a casserole dish.

Jeffrey, at Savers they start work 2 hours before they open the doors. In that time they clear the shelves of past date items and make room for the items they will be putting out throughout the day. The only time most people go early is on sale days... otherwise the last new items for the day are put out around 3:30pm (the crew in the back has to clean up their areas before they leave at 4)

So glad you grabbed the Brushwerks pieces. I saw the color & design flash across the screen and was yelling at you to STOP... look at them as you panned by looking at other dinnerware but apparently you didnt hear me. They are made near me. Sale for quite a bit. They are highly sought after people will pay upwards for them. You could never find them in a thrift here under the Big Sky. Purple cow is darling!!

That red plate with the Christmas tree around 14:58 near the clover is Waechtersbach (Germany). Dinner plates sell well on Ebay, but I can't tell if that's what size it is. Whatever the size, I'd let out an audible squeal if I ever found one in a thrift store around here! That pattern is always on my wish list.

As I've aged, I've come to appreciate the lighter weight dishes. I got rid of all my heavy ones, bought plastic at the "Everything is a Dollar" store, and I'm happy as a lark. I got tired of lifting those heavy things in and out of cabinets. LOL And should the plastic ones get ruined for whatever reason, I can go back and get another and it doesn't break the bank.

If there was anyway you could buy without losing, many of us love some of the single little dishes like the floral nut bowl or light gray planter. Even with little dings that don't show. I use them in baths for little items, as well as other rooms for odd items. It's much more attractive than $store plastic bins. Just an idea.

I worked at Corning for 5 yrs in the 70"s my mom did in the 50's and my aunt had 20 yrs in when she went to Viking. If the bottom of the ware says Corning Centura it was made from 70's down but the decal could be newer. Spice of life was one of the 70's patterns. Centura is a much better quality than pyrex or Corel, which came out to be microwaved. Do not put a Centuria plate or cup in the microwave as it will explode. The Centuria is heavier also. Nice when your yuh young but not when yuh our nm older lol. All the ware was drop tested prior to the 80's. Also if you see a "silver band" on a plate it is platinum not silver. Corning only used gold and platinum on their ware. I banded and silk screened patterns on, you would have to sign it out and walk the jar back with a guard to your setup man. We once did a 200 plate, complete setting for a Sheikh in the middle east. The plates had his Crest and monogram in the center with platinum on the trims. The cups had a falcon decal add. We were usually allowed to bring home one of the plates we screened or banded but not these. Our packing girls thought they would leave notes on the papers between the plates. Stupid stuff like Hi from West Virginia, smiley faces etc. They were pulled in customs and everything came back and had to be repacked lol. From that point on they only did notes or greetings in the USA
