First Overnight Fishing Trip Catalina island

Our first overnight fishing to Catalina island. We were anchored in Long Beach port and left to Catalina island at Sun up. We were targeting whitefish, sheephead, blue perch, calico bass, and bonita.

I thought sheepshead was put under the rockfish category? I hate trying to keep up with all these regs. Looked like a great day. You must have timed the weather window perfect. It seams we haven’t had any good weather yet this year. I can’t wait to get out there. Thanks for sharing.

The 2023 fishing regulation removed both the sheephead and whitefish from the rockfish category. Looking forward to the pelagic fishing this year.

Sooner or later youre gonna have an engine problem. If you have to have 1 engine, its smart to have a small backup engine ready to go. Look at some set ups online

Hi Danny, sure we can do buddy boating for overnight fishing in either Catalina or San Clemente Islands. I’ll be busy in the next few weeks but may be available the weekend of 4/23. Go out on Saturday’s night and fish early Sunday’s morning, head back home after lunch.
