Another great video and editing from you, well done. The track seems in good condition, yet the train is running slow. This just goes to show, they could run a daily train each way Melbourne / Mildura / Melbourne if they wanted too.

track is not in the best condition, its speed limited for the most part of speeds between 10 and 30kmh, also takes too long for the train to get from melbourne to mildura as it has to go by north geelong and ararat before turning back to go to maryborough before proceeding to mildura so you would be better catching the train to bendigo or swan hill and bussing from there to mildura which was faster than taking the train along the original route

@@lachlansmith1522 Thank you for your detailed response. My reason for commenting on the track, from what I could see looked like concrete sleepers and new ballast in many shots, so assumed track had been maintained. As for the train, yes, it is a very backward way to go these days. I did Swan Hill in February and noticed the Mildura bus waiting on our arrival. Looked like a good service.

@@lachlansmith1522 unsure about that, the lines in the northwest have had a lot of maintenance recently and in the best shape in years.

it's a shame the loco hauled sets are being taken out of service. Great video mate!

sure is, but it does provide several new opportunities for heritage groups with the N sets and N classes, and also probably a few more N's to freight at some point too

Was this using the standard gauge rolling stock used on the Albury line?

Nice video, that line is not the greatest to film or take photos like most people where thinking it would be. Its the 1st SG passenger train to mildura but not on SG to Maryborough, think B74 was the 1st back in march 1997 with a ACT ARHS standard gauge tour to Dunolly and branch lines in western vic

Is the line speed awful or did they choose to go slow?
@bigman42256 ай бұрын
Line speed in a majority of places is 15-30 kilometers per hour. Big man.
