Great video mate, hopefully we will see some more tours going on the Avoca/Mildura line sometime soon in the future

So good to see the old girl again I saw her at Ouyen station this afternoon & myself & a few friends raced past the crossing to wave her goodbye as she left Ouyen, This proves that a passenger train can be re-introduced on the Mildura line all government need to do is pull their finger out.

Sounds like a horn from a NSW 80 or 81 class loco. It’s an absolute ripper. I don’t know the name of that type of horn, but I love it. Great work too. Hopefully SSR hire some more N classes for grain work in the future especially on the SG network in Victoria once the Warrnambool, Bairnsdale and swan hill lines are 100% taken over by vlocities in the future.

Nathan P5 is the horn.

Another great video, well done. Just goes to show, they could run a daily service to and from Mildura. They have all the rolling stock. ex Albury services!

Thanks Wayne, be only useful running from Maryborough if they did.

I wonder why they put the train through Wiltshire Loop when it crossed nothing? Waste of time, unless they went through to clean the points. Very grand and proud railway station at Maryborough, nice video Brad.😉👌

Wiltshire's set up like all of V/Line's trailable point loops in that down trains always run through the loop and up trains take the straight. Could do it properly and have the points motorised and controlled from Melbourne but that's more money.

Lots of firsts featuring on this video. Apart from those you already mentioned, (and much less important), its the first time I've seen a train run through the new Wiltshire Loop. Next step I would hope is for a decent sleeper train to be deployed on the line, so it doesn't take 2 days to get to the other end of it. And of course, as always, well done on an excellent video.
@Greensleeves946 ай бұрын
Thanks, no need for a sleeper train though as it's all concrete sleepers and 47kg rail. There's also not much scope for increasing the track speed even though it'd be good for it due to the curves and hills on the line. Not to mention the several unprotected level crossings along the line which they have to slow for given road users can't be trusted to follow the actual road rules.

Do freight trains still use the Avoca branch?
@Greensleeves946 ай бұрын
Every day, it's the only way to access Mildura by rail so the Fruit Flyer runs that way as do all grains for the line north of Dunolly.

Very true, at least for that section of line. Once they're on the ARTC track they fly though.
