One thing I love about Aurelia is that there are so many pedestrians and so much public transport, and barely any actual cars. My ideal city :)
@unknownPLfan2 жыл бұрын
What no city builder really models particularly well is how much parking you need to support certain density if you don't also have good transit (e.g. cities skylines models parking, but then makes cars materialize out of thin air when it's not available). Aurelia clearly is comparable to Manhattan in its density in a lot of spots, so you absolutely need lots of transit and pedestrianization, while it's also implied in a lot of the builds that there's a fair bit of underground parking as well. I think Akruas did a good job really showing what sort of infrastructure is demanded for a city like this. So, even if I'm not a fan of the freeways, they're also realistic and likely necessary.

it's better than hyper realistic though. Hyper realistic would have all the boring stuff. These cities feel like they were completely designed by architects, like the original concept art was followed to te tee and no compromises had to be made by the architect who drew them up - and I'm freaking LOVING it lol!! It reminds me of those plans you can find for entire cities that wre drawn up as concepts to start a foundation and get investors excited, only the plans held up and every idea was pushed straight through to production

I just thought of how a future game like city skylines could stop pedestrians from walking in front of cars and trains. The vehicle tells the game where it's about to be and that stretch is considered closed to other vehicles and to pedestrians. The area might be calculated based on speed for realism or it could just be the segment in front of the vehicle if there's risk of realism beign to laggy. Either way the end result would be no more pedestrians casually walking in front of an oncomming train.
@photocide172 жыл бұрын
