Incredible detail. you get all the presence and warmth from the lows/mids without sacrificing the clarity up top. I'm still blown away by how well they pick up harmonics.

Wow! What an incredible piece! There are times when an instrumental piece has left me feeling like somebody just told me their life's story. The tempo changes, the minor to major changes, then the minor 7th's that leave it up to us to decide... at times some of you guys do it so beautifully that I need to have a smoke when I'm done listening hahaha Thanks for sharing what inspired this. I have 4 grown kids and this perfectly "describes" the fear and amazement I went through. Beautiful man!!!✌

Sounds better than a mic'd effort. And no time wasted placing the mics either! Amazing pickup. Amazing player. Amazing song.

It sounds incredible Jon, I can't wait for the full break down video. I am curious what this running through etc.

The 3 pickups go via my Motu Ultralite interface into Reaper. Then each pickup gets treated with Izotope Neutron for compression and EQ. For the verse sections, the magnetic pickup is running through an amp sim - basically a Plexi-type sound from Line6 Helix Native. Reverbs wise, for this one I used some Audiority stuff, mostly Polaris and Xenoverb. There's also an overdriven delay in places. And a synth trombone for some reason, which I made in SurgeXT. Then mastering with Izotope Ozone.

@@jongomm That sounds super complex, but the end result was just spectacular. Such a rich sound man, I loved it.

Pity it isn't compatible with my guitars that have nonstandard, acrocentric sound holes. 😔

Shucks just upgraded my main guitar to the rare earth blend, is there a possibilty do get only the third sensor or something? I‘ve always used the rare earth in combination with the fishman piezzo

You can't buy the PowerTap sensor on its own, but you can get it combined with a piezo I think, so maybe that's your next upgrade!
