1) Kiyoko is another student, a third-year like Daichi and Suga, and she's the manager of the team! Helps around with any organization questions, and at practices too. 2) When Kageyama said he didn't make it in, he didn't mean this school (Aobajousai) - they're not the /best/ team in the prefecture, they're in the top-4. He failed to get into another school.

I'm a Japanese who likes this animation. My English is not good but hope you understand . Kiyoko Shimizu is a third year student of Karasuno high school and a "manager" of Karasuno men's volleyball club team. "Manager" doesn't mean head coach at japanese club. It means team assistant. There are many roles for "manager",for example,record scores, wash uniforms,prepare a sports drink,prepare a banner. I'm really looking forward to watching the next movie.

@@bernardmartins1093 I'm sorry, but I just had to speak up for the original commenter because your comment seems to imply that さくら spoiled info that would be made clear in later eps & you seem to be upset about it to a certain degree. For Japanese people, the concept of "managers" in Japanese high school sports is exactly what さくら described, & so the show doesn't "explain it to the viewers in a later ep" because there's no need (in fact, many if not most are unaware that "manager" actually means "coach"). Therefore, さくら wasn't spoiling any later-revealed-info but just explaining cultural differences.

Kiyoko (the glasses girl) is the Team Manager. Takeda (the teacher) is the Team Adviser. Kiyoko does manage things like uniforms, promotions for the team, gathering new members and stuffs and Takeda does temporary coaching (since he's not knowledgeable at coaching) and manages things Kiyoko, a student, can't manage.

I dont get it...why most of reactors dislike Oikawa....are they just that bias toward main team.....is ti just me who, when watching anime, waits for "villans" to develope their story...though you cant call opposig teams villans in haikyuu they are all likable....in my top 10 fav charactares there are just two karasuno boys in my top 10 (kageyama 7th and Tsukki 2nd)

These subs are so weird just casually throwing around the r word... There's also a lot of lines that just don't land and leave out context. Not as funny or as endearing as the original sub but the shows still so good that it still works somehow. Still a bit of a shame.
