I am not a Gambian but I have lived in the Gambia under both presidents and their administrations. I think Sir Dauda ruled at a time when Africa was seriously micromanaged by the European powers, and Gambia without natural resources, Sir Dauda had to manage with the little the country had. I think he should be respected as one of Africa's statemen who ruled his people with dignity and respect for human life. Gambia enjoyed relative peace in his time.
