I‘m a German, 55 years and my husband was a Gambian. He died here in Germany in 2011 (cancer). Today he would have celebrated his 62nd birthday. In 1998 he took me to his country and we spent there two years. This was the most beautiful time of my life. For the first time, I felt like real living - I felt alive like never before. So, I want to say „Thank you“ to my husband again, who showed me a place where my soul could breath. Whenever I feel down, doubting what this life is all about, I go back in my mind and think of those glory days ❤

I am from Ukraine and this music made me cry. It touches something deep in my heart. I think we missed Africa and we miss it. I play it and dance in the kitchen. I would like the whole world go out in the streets and dance African dances. As not only live in our brains, but also in our bodies and our hearts.

Africa will be back in his historical place in the world the mother of humanity and leading the the humanity to safe and wise place. The world is being destroyed because AFRICA is suffering everybody is exploiting africa and africans are mistreated everywhere even in UKRAINE all those people if they dont repent will face terrible end. Simply beautiful. Here is an English translation I found: The Gambia Built in peace and stability, hosted by development and progress, Humanity and happiness is on all faces, our outstanding country Gambia. Wherever you are , never forget your homeland Gambia For if you forget your roots, you turn your back on who you are. (Refrain): We are proud… We are proud of our country (Refrain): We are proud… Let us come together and unite (Refrain): We are proud… This is what will result in progress People of the Gambia; this is the beautiful land People of the Gambia; this is the peaceful land People of the Gambia; this is the land of our people People of the Gambia; there is nothing that compares to this land People honour this country because it is blessed We should not abandon our beautiful country Sons/daughters of this land, let us come to together I will truly always be proud to be a Gambian Wherever I travel, I shall tell of the wonders of this country There is nowhere that compares to Gambia Outro: The home of Peace… everyone say “Gambia” The home of Blessings… everyone say “Gambia” The home of Humility… everyone say “Gambia” The home of Family… everyone say “Gambia”

@abs2ray5 жыл бұрын
You're right. There are many Arabic words in Mandinka similar to Swahili I guess. I'm just fascinated how intertwined African languages really are. Africa must unite for it's people to take their rightful place on earth.
@JoStylin5 жыл бұрын
Mutie Mule ...It's not Arabic. I think you mean 'Afro-Asiatic'. The Afro-Asiatic language is extremely old and has existed long before Arabs entered Africa. Arabs only arrived in West Africa in 700 BC. However, Mandinka have had their language for over 10,000 years. These Mandinka people are responsible for some of the greatest empires in Africa. Songhai, Mali, and Ghana Empire was created by their ancestors. I’m even thinking it was their ancestors that ruled Pre-historic Egypt at one point before they migrated to West Africa due to Invasions/also due to the spread of the Sahara. The Mandinka, Soninke and Songhai people and their history are beyond fascinating. Let’s not even talk about their music - they are the founders of the Saharan 'Desert Blues' music style. Ali Farka Toure is one of them. These people are full of so much culture and history. They are also very closely related to the Dogon. The only difference is that the Dogon are not Muslim and have maintained the pre-Islamic traditions. You should read about them.
