Primmie looked exactly as promised. Huge props to talon for their process this year. They were definitely very doubted especially for bringing in two non thai players but they’ve progressively improved over the year and man am I looking forward to them at champions this year! I have to appreciate how willing they were to always experiment and innovate and well adding a player right before the most important match of the year truly takes balls.

@@whereami. lets forget about opening the ult, the ult itself still take some time to kick in before omen actually teleport. it only possible if they already prepared for it beforehand, for example getting yoinked by breach ult

@@DenTRM If you open the ult map right as you jump and start the teleport as soon as possible, you can make it. You even have at least one entire second of leeway to choose your location, but you can also simply ult into mid since your cursor is placed in the middle of the screen when you open a minimap. The airtime you get before dying after jumping is _certainly_ long enough to choose a location on the map and complete the initial teleport. You can jump from anywhere on the map and Omen ult to survive.

I do think Harbor could have a lot of success (Although, It seems as though this is a heavy 5 man push map but well, he has good walls + they don't allow you to jump through those little gaps as well as the cove that is kinda somewhat of a defense against spam). I do think Astra could also see some place. Mainly cause of the size of the map and the potential for, off the map Gravity wells

Ngl this map is the new Icebox, sage walls are definitely good for stopping spam and helping plants (for example a wall all the way trough A to the 2 spam boxes will just be enough to plant, on B a wall to stop people from tower/placing it to block off the spike in the thighter lane will force enemies to run all the way around it to defuse

If you have an unconventional map pick like Abyss, you kinda expect the team to pick it were going to be the one to win. But the one who picked it were the ones who ended up falling for the map's gimmick 3 times. Though, I'll give Invy a break, he was fully flashed (even if he could've just went to the left instead of risking the ledge)

Talon Primmie buff is filthy, sheesh, they put him in at the perfect time too. All TS prep vs talon went out the window with Primmie subbing in. The outcome was pretty much expected.

What I expect to see from NA is dbl smokes and one initial on this map. You’re able to create mid pressure and really obscure what you’re doing. Harbor is goated on this map and I absolutely could see viper surviving the nerf and being meta on abyss. Plus clove and omen are fantastic support smokers or you could even go with the brimstone in sort of a bind style comp. I think both comps picked here were sub optimal and that’s why we didn’t see much pressure created from either team, but even in gold this map devolves into late mid lurks and lurks through a into ct spawn or mid to b splits and flashes into ct spawn to hold those deep post plants like you might see on ice box where you scale snow man and post one on site somewhere and play up into the post plant. This map should be played in that manner. I actually think playing spam is a detriment on abyss because you’re allowing the defense time and space to smoke you off and to util spam you into a tight position and it’s uncomfortable. Less so for A site but definitely for B. From what I could gather we didn’t even see a smoke on the b wall box that sort of one ways off b link. B site is an absolute chore to retake when it’s dbl smoked. You can’t walk out heaven and you have to walk out of cover and swing the viper wall to even get line of sight. I think kayo and beach are both extremely overrated in these comps and I absolutely expect neon to challenge jet on this map because rotations and mid lurks play such a large role. Not to mention her stun is exceptional on a site and her wall will always get value. I could absolutely see 100T going with their bind setup for abyss and to me that would’ve been much better than what we saw here.

Feels like Sage or Deadlock could do alright on this map if Cypher doesn't end up working. Also just feel like since Omen is the apparent stronger controller, is more of a comfort pick to quite a few players, and has the range for a map like this; Omen might stay meta for now. Clove is clove, Brim doesn't have the rechargeable smokes nor the radius, Viper and/or Harbor would be a bit more difficult to work out but could honestly be better in the long run. Feel as though if Riot make Astra more relevant again she could end up being meta with her unlimited range.

This game very much confimed my suspicions about comps despite them picking the wrong agents. So many instances where Omen util got little value or messed something up and Harbor would've just been better. Many instances where Cove wouldve been insane value, barely ever taking more of site than Harbor's wall would cut off. That glaring part where the Jett gets a kill over a smoke on B would also not have happened with Cascade. Cypher setups being clearly too passive because of the barriers and map geometry. Breach and Kay-O are harder to evaluate, but they seemed fine realistically, good options, far from mandatory.

I don't know why not enough people discussed the fact that Secret had one of the smallest map pools of the playoffs teams. They had Sunset and Split, and that was it. And with Split being removed, they effectively lost their only guaranteed or at least probable win map. Just sad to see honestly.
