I have a 350 excf with 550 hours on it and have go through several sets of these, they are definitely a wear item. The Recluse ones last a lot longer than the KTM oem ones. You can usually tell they need replacing when you hear a lot of transmission noise/rattling under certain loads. It seems odd that replacing them would change the clutch pull as it is not part of the operation of the clutch basket or clutch plate. All they do is dampen the clutch basket from the transmission.
@dustinhoover31572 ай бұрын
@@advsquared I questioned it as well. Changing the fluid and reverse bleeding had no effect on the lever pull issue. Clutch pack looked fine and has time left. Changed the dampers and it was good again. Perhaps they squash down a bit with wear.

How did the dampers cause the dirty fluid?
@dustinhoover31572 ай бұрын
They didn't. I checked the fluid because of a change with lever pull and engagement. The fluid was contaminated from hydraulic system internals, but the level was good. Replaced fluid, which did not correct original issue. Moved on to the clutch assembly for inspection. Found dampers to be worn. Replaced those, checked operation again, and the original issue was corrected.

Unrelated but since you have vast experience on the same bike as me, I’m going ask anyway. Did the get ecu fix the flameout stall issue entirely? I went the dynojet, exhaust end cap, and reed removal route. My bike has more power and seemly better throttle response. However I still have the flameout issue, at low speed or when I’m clutching in and out on throttle. Only really happens in first gear riding. I also picked up some declaration popping with the dynojet. Didn’t know if you were experiencing any of these things with the ECU. My dynojet was also from tacomoto. The response from them was to confirm idle was at 1900rpm and just keep riding it. They never confirmed nor denied if this was normal for the dynojet.
@dustinhoover3157Ай бұрын
@@calebw7177 I have posted some first impression video's about the GET ECU (stock as well), and doing a little bit of testing. I have a playlist for the KTM 500 talking about some of this, and I am working on several more follow up reviews. Though just to recap, I did not feel that my bike had a serious flame out issue even when stock. I seem to have an uncommon opinion on this, but my bike was only cutting out when I would try to rev it while stopped in neutral, from idle. The GET ECU did correct that, and I have a demonstration in my inital impression video for the GET ECU. I avoided a piggy back tuner because I didn't want a partial correction, I wanted a more complete tune. The symptoms you are describing might be related to that.
@calebw7177Ай бұрын
@@dustinhoover3157 man thanks for the reply as always. I watched the initial impressions video on the ECU. Didn’t know if you noticed anything after more ride time. My problem is 100% flame out and not stall. Sometimes rolling down a hill using engine breaking the bike will die. It will also die if I’m clutch in and trying to pick the front tire up over a log or giving a quick burst of throttle off a ledge so the front end doesn’t dip. Since the dynojet isn’t providing the desired results, I was just trying to confirm a ECU is the solution before spending the dough. I probably won’t be going the tacomoto route for the future just based off of the lack luster customer support. Especially since they market the dynojet as the same solution for 1/2 the price. The way they pitch it is that it only thing you are missing out on is the map switch and the traction control. Both of which I don’t care about. That’s why went the dynojet route to begin with.
@dustinhoover3157Ай бұрын
Gotcha. So far the only gripe I've had with the GET is that it seems to start a bit slower than I remember when stock. As in "fire up", not a cranking issue. I have mostly overlooked that due to the several benefits of the ecu. There is a good chance it can be corrected in the app I just haven't got there yet. Maybe you can try to return the power commander?
