This project has come a long way John. Watching it move, it might be nice to have a real micro in there with an IMU chip so the robot can correct it's angle errors. This might make the motion more interesting as it could have some purpose and direction when it moves. Great work

The KT2 kungfu turtle made by Kame Robotics has what you are talking about, I think. I wanted to do a different programable version.

Yes, I think even on projects where I do not need the full 270 rotation, I would still use the metal gear 270 servo as they are digital so the standby current draw is around 5ma, so battery life is much longer.

KT2 kungfu turtle made by Kame Robotics had a camera, they removed it for security reasons. There is enough room above the Controller for a camera and WI FI board I think.
