Unless you are sure you should never say final answer after answering the first question. Just say the answer confidently, if it is correct the host won't waste any time and tell you immediately that it is correct. If the host pauses you can be sure it is wrong, then switch to the other option

Surge protectors don't work anyways. By the time they go off it's too late. You have to remember that electricity goes through the wires at nearly the speed of light. Surge protectors have a mechanical cutoff switch which would be lucky to break the sound barrier (much slower) when it goes off.
