I hate that about the price is right. I know there’s no practical way to stop contestants from bidding as low as they want, but it’s completely against the spirit of the game. At least try, it’s the least you should do. My idea is, if you bid under $100 (pretty obvious), instant disqualification. If you bid under $10,000 (less obvious, but the showcase is never lower than $20,000) the other contestant gets the cash value of their showcase as compensation.

If a player says number that is more that the value, then they are automatically disqualified. A player can only win if the bid the closest to the value WITHOUT GOING OVER the actual price. So, Jose lost immediately because his bid was more than the actual price. She only had to not go over the value of her showcase and she would automatically win.
