I think your speechlessness is more powerful than any words. This is a harsh reality some of our kids face every day, and it is ALL of our responsibilities to protect our neighborhood children, students, patients, kids' friends. These children are so alone, so vulnerable. They need us.

As a survivor of child abuse, it is important to share the message. and your raw reaction is what we all feel when it happens. It takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a village to protect a child.

Tough one QoFy. Very tough. I felt that! This could have been my song. Nobody knew what I went through at home. I couldn't trust anyone to not hurt me. Not one person. I beat the odds, and survived. Even though my marriage wasn't perfect, my husband was the best man I ever knew. He helped me to trust that there are people who will be kind, gentle, and loving to me. I am forever grateful for him.

The only one word that changes the dynamics and message is “could”. The song says “there’s nothing anything anyone WOULD do” and that’s the one thing that makes it harder to take. If it’s true to the message then that’s what makes society accountable for any losses or abuses towards kids and society turns their faces away from the situation. Everyone has this “it’s not my business or problem “ and let’s the child suffer in silence and in fear. I hope it isn’t something that happens and if it does, we owe it to them to recognize the signs when they are too afraid to speak up.

When the teacher asked from his students to write about their feelings, based on this song, one of the girls couldn't take it as she ran out of class crying because she was being abused as well. So the story behind the song may save lives since abuse continues at various levels in households with sufferers not speaking out.

The part where the girl got up and left in tears, I’m so glad the teacher went after her, cuz what I gathered was she was also being abused and was hiding it. It permeates every generation, every group of people, and if you see someone who you think is being abused, please say something, to them, or to an authority figure, just SAY SOMETHING. Silence makes a horrible situation a tragedy 😢

I've had a 2x4 across my back thrown into furniture, walls, windows. Went on for bout a yr and I told NOONE! I was embarrassed and ashamed and told myself that I just to need to keep my mouth shut and do as he says. I knew there were 2 ways out. 1. Bodybag 2. Me leaving on my own and not backing out. Even after the divorce he stalked me night and day. Until he went to jail. That was when I realized I was safe. I finally told my mom as well. Ptsd still sux though but I'm ok all is good 👍

Jason Michael Carroll took over 3 months to write this song as it was personal for him. He developed severe migraines writing it but felt he had to, in order to help stop children abuse. He brought this video to his old high school and the girl that is in that classroom and leaves the class, is remembering her friend that was in the same situation who also was killed. I had the same reaction dude: speechless. I went thru this when a friend in my class had it happening to her..not as much physical but ignoring and no concern shown by parents. She was quiet and her friends were few. I broke thru with humor and we 4 friends put a net of protection and caring over her that was accessible 24/7. Started at 12 and by 16, I was picking her up down the street to get away from it. I cannot tell you how close I came to running down her abusers with my 1970 Chevy. But she saved me by saying if I go to prison, she loses most. She was right. It was repported but the county/state investigation was a joke and nothing was done except random inspections. I never told her and I guess her parents didnt either, but I had a come-to-Jesus conversation after the refusal of help with them and my speech was backed up by an Easton aluminum 34 oz baseball bat. I knew that in my county, no jury would give me much time. And if it meant saving her from harm or taking of her own life, it was worth the trade-off. If it meant she lived, I would show them how I hit 420-foot home runs in person. I had friends on the force and when they tried to report me, they were already aware of the situation. My buddy, a seargant, told me the chief told them he didnt believe them and they wqere filing a false report. In the 80s, there were no cameras or recording devices everywhere. So they knew that I was free to carry out my promise and go to jail while accomplishing my goal. She is still one of my closest friends and the abuse slowed to a trickle until they kicked her out of the house. People dont get caught up in your own lives where you ignore this stuff. There is honor in taking a chance to protect children, even if it means you pay a price. Do/say something at least. I was a pissed of teenager who thought 24 hours was the rest of my life. But I am thankful that I helped her grow up, damaged, but alive.

Your genuine silence on this song makes me cry the more. Sometimes I'm losing faith in humanity why humans can become wild animals.

I am sorry but I could not watch this all the way through... There are some that God calls home, and some of us live through and if we are very very lucky, we grow up to have a wonderful life..
