“Južina” (also “Jugo” < “jug” means “South”) is a moist SE wind, it blows from the sea over islands and coast, typically bringing in rain and storms. Dalmatians and Croatiansin general believe it also effects health and overall mood. It’s depression, headaches, grumpiness, sleepiness and low energy levels while this wind is in effect. As a Croatian, I can assure you this is very, very real and we can all relate to what Luka is singing about! 😅 Hope this brings a bit of context, thank you for your reaction, always interesting to see! 😊

Kao Srbin (rođen u Beogradu) poreklom iz Crne Gore sam mnogo puta kad sam bio duže vremena na Jadranu sve ovo o čemu Luka peva osetio. U Kotoru mi stric ima stan. A i u Herceg Novom sam dosta puta boravio kod prijateljice i van letnje sezone. Setim se i svog ranog detinjstva i kako sam naučio da plivam; odmah osetim miris mora i tu atmosferu. Letos sam i u Dubrovniku bio i nastavio dalje da krstarim do Splita. Dalmacija je prelepa. Jadran je blago svih nas u regionu! Drago mi je da nas ovakve pesme spajaju i da tu nema prostora za bilo šta drugo što nema veze sa muzikom.

Video is pure art. The song tells about how he feels sleepy and lethargic while the warm wind "jugo" blows. In Dalmatia they call it "južina". :)

Južina (juszina) is a weather condition that comes with the south wind and announces rain. Low atmospheric pressure that makes you lazy, sleepy, mushy brained and it's (somehow) trade marked in Dalmatia. :D - Luka is from Split. He is very innovative and creative. Excellent video.

The singer on the top of the hill sings an archaic song, because Ojkanje roots can be traced to the pre-Slavic Illyrian culture. On his head is the fur of a whole sheep and such high hats are worn by dancers during the carnival in the hinterland of Dalmatia to ward off winter.

Južina is type of wind but judged by the video, rhytm and last lyrics in refren I'm guessing that it could be a slang or name for type of ganja too
