trust me bro the lyrics seriously dont correlate with the story the mv is telling. both are kind of similar with the lyrics taking about pursuing a relationship that may not be the best but the mv is more about friendship and going through all the experiences of growing up whether it be through the bad experiences (which were shown through the members’ individual scenes) and the good experiences (when the members show happier times when they’re together). the scenes in the music video tell a story that’s much different than what the lyrics are saying so if you were to watch without captions, there would be no romantic connotations behind why they’re all sad and shit. I recommend reacting to some theory videos after you watch the prologue video and the run mv but while you may be on the mark when it comes to the story the lyrics are telling, the mv storyline might need a little more looking into.

just a hint for the rest of the storyline: A mistake people make is adding a romance into it, try NOT to think in terms of a relationship with an outside person, the lyrics don't always correlate with the video, except when you get to the WINGS era content. This story rests majorly on the relationship between the 7 of them. There is more content outside of the videos that tie the story together but would take alot of reading. There are videos on here that you could watch in between MVs that bridge the gaps if you watch theory/storyline videos at certain points of you going through the storyline. But a romantic relationship is not the focus of the story. Even when girls show up in the storyline, they are merely like representations of things rather than "girlfriend" figures.

It's got a different scientific classification because of the added symptoms - primarily "confusion" because they know they're straight so they don't understand why they're in love with him. XDD It's okay, it's only temporary. Eventually they come to accept that it's a pure and beautiful love. They're "shook frozen" but because of all the confusion, they can't pronounce words right either. :D Look for a video called "Literally my first encounter with BTS" by a channel called AmISamIAm to see the originator of the phrase.

I hope you see this. 😔 (im not gonna give any spoilers, im just explaining the MV) The lyrics and video are actually about two different things. The video is about a fictional group of friends, each going through their own struggles. Together they are happy. They spend their nights and evenings together going through the city, hanging, going to the sea, etc. Over time though, things change, and the boys stop seeing each other. They're alone and broken. That's why you saw "happy moments" of them together and "sad moments" of them alone. Suga is in a hotel room, and burns it down almost killing himself in the process. His depression has to do with him losing hope, wanting it all to end. His backstory is complicated, you'll learn more about it later. Back when the boys were all together, he was closest with Jungkook, which is why you'll see him in a lot of scenes with JK now and later on in future videos. Suga and fire in general are often connected with each other. (good to remember for future vids, like in Fake Love where he's sitting in front of an explosion) J-Hope is overdosing on pills and ends up collapsing on a bridge. He was closest with Jimin when the group of friends were all together. He also has a complicated past, that you'll learn more about in future videos. In the video you can also see him tossing some pills into a fire, while hanging with the other boys. When they're around, he doesn't need medication, he's just happy. RM works a low-pay job at a gas station. He smokes. In the videos, you'll often see him with a lollipop. The lollipop represents a cigarette. Back in the day, he was very close with V, which is why you'll also see them in scenes together throughout the storyline. Jungkook is a bit of a reckless character in the video. He's wandering the streets, and lets himself essentially get beat up by a bunch of thugs he bumps into. Afterwards, he's hurt and gets hit by a car. The car accident almost kills him actually. His story and hardships has a lot to do with him missing his friends. Jimin does two things in the video. He burns a photo, it's a photo of the boys. (he does this again in another MV 'Run') Then he starts sobbing in a full bathtub. It's overflowing and he's likely thinking of drowning himself. Jimin and water are associated often with each other (for future reference, remember Fake Love? Jimin was the one in the room flooded with water). Jimin overall feels abandoned and alone, hence the crying. V probably has the most revealed about him in this video. He comes from an abusive household. His dad drinks and abuses V and his little sister. One day, V comes home and sees his father hit her, and then he just snaps. He stabs his father to death with the bottle. This is a pivotal moment in the storyline. V, overall, in the storyline is usually a bit of a wildcard. The murder he committed will haunt him. In the past, he was able to get away from the troubles of his home life whenever he hung with the other guys. Jin, last but certainly not least, is probably the most curious character. Not a lot really happens to Jin, as you saw. He has trouble sleeping in his bed, so you can tell that he misses the others, he has nightmares. A symbolic moment is when he takes 6 flower petals and burns them. The six flower petals represent the six other members. He's burning them because he's lost them. You also see him with a flower shining on his chest, to show that their friendship(=flower) is always in his heart. The symbol of a flower will occur again. (in fake Love, there was the flower that turned to sand; do u remember? and the "flower that cant be bloomed in a dream that cant come true" a lyric from Fake love). Anyway, to sum things up: What's important for the rest of the storyline is to remember the pairs! Suga and Jungkook as one pair. V and RM as a pair. And J-Hope and Jimin as a pair. Jin is a special character in that sense, and there are a lot of theories as to what his character is. Some say he's a guardian angel, others think that Jin died and thats why the boys are all apart. Others think that he's a time traveler (you'll see why in later videos) . The main events you should remember are: - Suga burning down his room - J-Hope overdosing - RM + gas station + cigarette - Jungkook getting hit by a car - Jimin drowning/crying in a bathtub - Jin burning the flower petals - V killing his dad I hope this isn't too much to process, and I hope you can relate it to the video. It's okay if you don't remember everything, we can always remind you. maybe rewatch the MV one time on your own just to get it in context. Love you, stay awesome!!!

this song actually plays a huge role in the theories... It's more than them just getting cheated on. The MV shows a lot of hidden meanings especially Jin and that white flower... It's said that he dies and he intentionally dies as he is the time traveller and he knows what's gonna happen next and Jungkook gets into a car accident in 13:49. Taehyung killed his alcoholic father out of anger and he snapped when he saw his father hitting his sister

I think the girls in the short films represent searching for meaning and happiness in other people through romantic relationships. All the boys are going through hard times and the girls are kind like a distraction and momentary brightness in their lives but it's "fake love" because the boys don't truly know and love themselves yet because they're running from their issues instead of facing them. Their issues are represented by the other members in each pairing as they're all separated and kind of avoiding each other or hiding things from each other (Jin's issue is represented by the group as a whole and he seems to feel personally responsible for everything they're all going through for some reason and he's running from that responsibility in the highlight reels). This is why everything eventually comes crashing down so horribly because all the relationships were based on "lies"; basically the boys not being their true selves and avoiding facing their fears and past trauma. With the last album Love Yourself: Answer we basically see the moment of realization that before anything else, they need to love themselves with The Epiphany MV tying into the ongoing storyline. We see Jin seem to come to that conclusion and in the end he leaves his home confidently as though he is no longer hiding away from his troubles or seeking validation from others, as he now knows and loves himself for who he is. The flash of the members by the truck at the end of the mv seems to suggest that they will all gradually come to that same conclusion and maybe be brought together again as self actualized adults. We'll have to see when the storyline continues....

In this song, the video actually isnt related to the lyrics. The video is all about how each of the boys have enormous personal struggles (e.g. V from an abusive household, jhope overdoses on pills, jimin is depressed etc.) but are only happy together, and tells the story of friendship, whereas the song is about a girl. And in the storyline, the guy V kills is his abusive dad who kept hitting his sister. Glad you reacted, hope i helped💞

I think Jin died because if you see he's in white which symbolizes afterlife and you can also see he is the only one not having any problems because he is in the afterlife. The others are acting this way because their friend has died and they don't know what to do anymore. You'll also see some of that in euphoria, how the camera he's holding falls

You can comprehend this MV as a character missing their partner; or a group of people experiencing their youth. 'Girl' can be a metaphor for another thing, such as: 'youth', 'friends',... BTS's concept during this time (2015,2016) is Youth - The Most Beautiful Moment In Life (you should check out the albums) and their messages focus on the experience of teenagers during their youth. As you can see in some scenes in the MV, the seven boys are very happy when they are together, spending their time without any concerns for the future. Each boy represents a different situation/problem that a teenager has to face during their youth. So you can see, the seven boys are happy only when they are together. When separated, they experience depression, anxiety,... They don't want to be an adult, because when we grow up more, we usually lose our passion, dreams that we used to have in the past, and focus on how to survive in this society. Their depression and sadness lead to suicide (Yoongi burning himself, Jhope taking pills, Jimin trying to drown, Jungkook getting beat up) and uncontrol action (Taehyung kill his abusive father to protect his sister). BTS's MV has a storyline, but you don't need to follow the storyline, an audience can comprehend differently. In BTS's storyline, Taehyung in this MV kills his abusive father to protect his sister. He may respect all the members (I’m confident he does), and he may even say he has a special respect for one member (like RM or Suga, with their great words and amazing rap skills), but Jimin just sucks him in, makes him smile, and takes him to some sweet, soft, quiet-but-powerful, brotherly place. people say that the lyrics are not important to make it easier to not get distracted/confused like most people get, the 'girl' in the hook and the lyrics in general are not relevant to the entiredy of this universe they created, obviously this is a love song unless you see 'girl' as a metaphor. the storykine itself it isn't about a romantic relationship. it is rather about all of the guys, friendships, youth and transitioning into adulthood :-)

The character who J-hope acted in MV didn't take pills to kill himself. He was suffering from narcolepsy in BTS Universe(BU).

in the mama short film you can pause on the diagnosis sheet the doctor has and see that his diagnosis is munchausen syndrome and in the notes he says he takes pills to make himself pass out/get ill. munchausen is when someone makes themselves ill so that others will take care of them, to put it simply. it's associated with childhood abandonment and trauma.

Another thing that is important to remember is that these songs have DANCE PRACTICES that have nothing to do with the MV, and are OK to watch at any time! The “I NEED U” DP is awesome, and in fact was one of the performances that was critical in bringing me in to the BTS fandom. I saw JK with that CLOSER T-shirt and thought- Yep.....I wanna get closer to THAT guy!! The other DPs were DOPE and DANGER. Check out the choreo at the start of DANGER, and all the complicated moves involved before the song even begins!! And there are so many more Dance Practices that you can look forward to! Go back to their early ones and make your way through the years, and see how they’ve changed, becoming tighter, sharper; it’s almost as if they breathe in unison.....which I wouldn’t doubt if they really do! Even their jumping like in BS&T and FIRE......perfectly in sync! You can hear how they land; one loud THUMP. Back in the day, BH had a very small budget for creating these MVs and had to make do. The thugs that beat up JUNGKOOK? BTS’s managers & other staff! The cars & trucks that are defiled by the young ne’er-do-wells in the RUN MV? Belonged to those same staff members. But as time went on, their budget increased. I remember hearing some reactor saying “Geez, I wonder where that art museum is, it looks so nice; I’d really like to visit it!”.....referring to the place in the BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS MV. In the “making-of” video for that MV you can clearly see that it was built specifically for filming the MV!! But it certainly did look like a real museum. And now, currently, I can only guess how much $$$ they put into MVs like FAKE LOVE and IDOL!!

The lyrics aren't actually about a girl so don't mind that it doesn't really matter, this song applied to relationship between friends and generally that. In this video there's individual story's about each member it goes again the theories you should check them out

If you read "THE NOTES" you will understand this video more :) The lyrics here really dont have much to do with the story. About "THE NOTES": In the Love Yourself series they had the little diaries inside the album box(in every version a different one). In each diary there are notes from each member which tell the story in each perspective. There are new information & you can also find notes about things which also happened in the MV's. So when you watched all story related videos you should also read the notes to understand the story more. The physical notes are written in korean, but there are many translations online. This was the 3rd BTS song/MV I listened/watched, and it’s the song and more so, the MV that really made me sit up and pay attention, and think that there is way more to this group than the usual pop group. It’s a mistake that people make when they watch this with captions, that they think the story content on screen relates directly to the lyrics. It’s weird because i honestly didn’t link it in that way. Yes they were singing “girl”, but I never thought that the visual content related to a girl or a romantic relationship. It just immediately seemed to me that the visual content was part of something bigger. After looking around the internet, I read that the phrase was originally supposed to be “I need you friend”.

All i have to say after watching your reaction is that BTS does not always talk about girls in relationships. They talk about a lot of different types of love. I guess that’s the mentality I would suggest anyone while watching/listening to any BTS material.

One of the most important things to link back to the storyline from pre HYYH to HYYH (The Most Beautiful Moments in Life) to Wings and even Love Yourself is that while the stories are fictional, they tie into who they are as a group and what message they want to get across. And it's really a beautiful thing. The theorists I would usually go for when it comes to these videos are Dreamteller and Skopf.
