Notice how RM pronounces "tear" as in the tears you cry and Suga pronounces "tear" as in tearing/ripping, perhaps your heart being torn in two. This relates to how the two of them interpreted the title "Tear" in different ways. Overall, the album 'Love Yourself: Tear' is about the dark side of love and losing who you are because of loving and changing yourself for someone else (at least that's my interpretation) and is part of the larger 'Love Yourself' series.

Also, all of the boys can indeed sing. JHope was a trained vocalist before joining BTS and Suga and RM had to teach him how to rap. However, Suga has always pretended to sing badly/off key in interviews, behind the scenes stuff, etc. So when he full on sang in songs like this and Seesaw, a lot of people got whiplash. Because he never really sang well for a recording before. But the signs were there. He provided backing vocals for his Tony Montana song and him and JHope performed a song at a Japanese concert called Otsukare. And they both killed it. 😊💜

I don’t usually have a favorite track but I would pick outro: tear and ddaeng over the cyphers anyday. Rapline snapped in these 2 tracks. They did not come to play! Oh btw did you realise how J- Hope spazzed out in his part? It’s like RM and Suga were warming it up for J-Hope to end it like that! I highly recommend checking out Trivia: Seesaw by Suga, it's his solo from love yourself: Answer and I think it gives a different angle on how diverse Yoongi/suga actually is. A lot of people associate him with rapid-fire rapping which of course is amazing but Seesaw really shows that Suga isn't just a fast rapper but also smooth, diverse and even delves a little into the vocal department. It is a totally different vibe from Suga and he owns it. I also recommend the other Trivias: love (RMs) and Just Dance (j-hope) they are also amazing.
