Fun fact, "I'll Be Back" choreo is based on Terminator 2! For real! That's also why they incorporated some moves like the running/robot moves and the thumb up to the sky. 2PM was one of the first groups I encountered in my Kpop journey with "Again and Again". They have what we call a beast idol concept. You saw a few shirtless shots but there were even more during live performances.They had many almost cringy/cheesy songs like this but this is what we loved in 2nd gen indeed! They switch a bit their concept after with more wittiness songs (even if they had some before). Also for the info, 2PM had a JYP twin brother group named "2AM" which was 4-member boy group with a focus on ballads. They were less successful than 2PM but it would be great to see your reactions to them as well! Thanks for checking them and giving honest opinion as usual! 💜

2pm is such an iconic group! They are so funny and I loved them roasting JYP on variety shows. If you think Got7 is chaotic, they learned it from 2pm. :) Making fun of Heartbeat is probably a national sport by now. A lot of the members are also actors, and in most of their dramas they make fun of either Heartbeat or another 2pm song, which is hilarious (most recently Taecyeon in the drama Vincenzo). Also side note: Most of them are quite tall. The two tallest members (Taecyeon and Chansung) are 185.7 cm (6’1″) and 184 cm (6’0″). The shortest member (Junho) is 177 cm (5’10”). They are also pretty close with the members of SNSD and even shot a song/ad together. (Nichkhun and Tiffany even dated for a short while.)

These are only songs from their first 2-3 years of their career! They have changed and grown so much and I feel that after Hands Up (2011) no one gave their music a chance in Korea because JYP shipped them to Japan for 2 years (until My House went viral last year 5 years later), they're still very much relevant bc almost all of them are actors / appear in variety shows but yeah. They'll have a cb soon this year after 5 years of enlistment hiatus I'm so excited to see what they have in store! I know you will love ADTOY, Promise and Comeback When You Hear This Song. Their japanese discography is also chef's kiss 😌. Looking forward to part 2!

great reaction :) I hope you react to this song called Cabi Song - it is a promotional single by 2pm and SNSD (Girls' Generation). It was released in 2010 to promote the Caribbean Bay water park at Everland Resort. I don't know if you knew about this but there were some dating rumours between 2pm's Taecyeon and SNSD's Yoona in 2009 and both of them then appeared on Strong heart (a talk show) and explained they're just really close friends :) And in 2011 Taecyeon had a dating scandal with Jessica, they were spotted together in Tokyo. But Taecyeon explained that he was in Japan for work and was exercising and when he heard Jessica was also in Japan, he thought they should meet for coffee because they're friends, that's it :D And Nichkhun from 2pm and Tiffany from SNSD dated in 2014 but they're not together anymore :(

Omg super nostalgic for me as a 2nd gen fan!! I think 2PM's concept was mainly beastly and manly idol style. They molded into a more classy and charismatic concept in their later comebacks like My House. And you can see that JYP was very into the acrobatics in their choreography with both 2PM and GOT7 attempting those.

He was 2PM’s former leader until Again and Again era. He left the group due to some controversy. 9:31 this song has been stuck in my life since forever LEGENDARY Actually 10 out of 10 was 2PM’s debut song. I don’t know if you included it on your list but I’m hoping to see your reaction on that one. ☺️ 2PM was also considered as BEASTDOLS of 2nd gen because of their masculine image + acrobatics was one of their trademarks during their first few years after debut.

Hearing 2PM always makes me feel like the age I was when I started listening to them over a decade ago. Their early stuff is pure nostalgia, their later stuff is still on repeat as enduring favourites. My ult group of that generation, with one on my ultimate biases from all of kpop (top 5 for sure), Jun K -such a cranky exhausted grandpa, such a savage party animal, LOVE the songs he writes

I LOVEEEE 2pm. They're such a man group, like idk how else to put it. They've always had a very mature song and concept but they are seriously the biggest dorks. My personal favorite are ADTOY, Hands up, and Crazy. But then again, i'll be back gets stuck in my head at least once a month. I do think you'll like their newer more Rnb songs. Also would be interesting for you to watch their debut mv because I literally cannot imagine anyone else debuting with that song and video anymore. Overall I love these dorks and love watching their live performances. Great reaction!

I don't know if you know, but the guy in Again and Again that you said was a good dancer is Jay Park. He was the leader of 2pm for the first 2 years after their debut. I feel people forget that.

I liked what you said about each generation laying a foundation for the next. I think that's especially evident with 2PM because a couple of the groups that added things with tumbling and tricking some years later cited 2PM as their role model for doing it. Hottest since Go Crazy era (late 2014). I’m excited for your second video. Their early stuff is not my favorite, with a few exceptions, Without U being one. They don’t lip sync, so if you liked that song even a little, their 2016 live version is perhaps their best performance of that song ever - the bridge gives me chills. I VERY highly recommend it. (Search “Without U 6Nights”) If you liked the strings in Heartbeat, the intro to Heartbeat at their 2016 Tokyo Dome concert was played with ~40 live strings on stage. (I flew 11 hours to Japan just for this show.)(Search “heartbeat 2pm Tokyo”) I sincerely hope Karen included Go Crazy. It’s completely different. That title track and My House were written by the oldest member, Jun. K. The dance practice video is hilarious.

2PM aka the beastly idols!!!!!!!!!!!! Known at first for the acrobactics and being buff XD I love them!!!!! Their earliest music is the typical JYP style. Glad it changed now XD "I'll be back" was my first comeback with them, and, OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THE MAKE-UP!!! Bwahahahaha XD They are a suuuuper fun group!!!! The only shows that comes to my mind to check out is Wild Bunny and 2PM show. But they are old, dunno if you can still find them. You were lucky if there was 480p XD 720p, what's that????? XD and we had to wait days for the subs XD Now people have no patience and demands subs at the same time it came in Korea and get grumpy if they have to wait 2 hours. More hours, more grumpy and demanding they get.

I have to say even though I always found 2pm's emotional/angsty stuff to be really cheesy, I still love it. I like "Come Back When You Hear This Song" and "A.D.T.O.Y. (All Day I Think about You)". As for more classic 2nd gen stuff, I think MBLAQ is another to look into. Like a lot of cringy 2nd gen names, theirs stands for "Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality. I'm a hottest, been a hottest for a decade and I find it really hard to listen to Again and Again, Heartbeat and I'll Be Back... they're just not great imo. Without U I love, especially their performance of it at 6nights! But I think their music got leaps and bounds better once they were allowed to write their own. The Grown album was really the beginning of that (though there were a couple of songs they wrote on earlier albums). Also, yes, Chansung is tall (6'0") and Taec IS their climbing gym (6'1") lol.
