First Reaction To BTS' Butterfly

I really really love this song because i see another meaning to it (and many armys did too). In this theory that i love, they wouldn't speak to a love interest, but to a dear friend that is suicidal. When they say "Will you stay by my side, will you promise me if i let go of your hand you'll fly away and break" to me it means they're scared this loved one may end their life and they're scared to leave them alone and they make them promise to stay alive.With "i'm scared to lose you" you can understand that as well. Even by just looking at the butterfly image, we can imagine that as well : a butterfly has a very short life expectancy, only of a few days, it's an ephemeral thing. Another thing we can add is that butterflies die when we touch them ; i see a parallelism with deeply depressed people who, even though are strong for fighting everyday, can be very fragile when it comes to their close ones saying hurtful words to them ; or even people in general. What to say to a friend who wants to die ? It's a difficult thing to handle and maybe that's why they say that they're scared to touch them. Sorry about the loooong text but i really wanted to share this theory that makes me tear up every time i listen to Butterfly ;) have a nice day/night, i love your reactions keep going !

thank you for this comment, I always relate this song with the prologue mv, which heavily implies suicide as well. And if you notice, RM references Kafka on the shore, telling Kafka not to go into the forest, which is basically telling him not to die/ commit suicide. So yes, this song can always bring me to tears...

BTS really are another kind of music, right ?.. they really are a true comfort for a lot of people all around the world, including you an me, i guess. And yes, you're right, in the prologue mv there is a lot of suicide/death themes.. i really thin it's an interesting kind of theory ! thank you for replying and have a nice day ;)
