Finally somebody who is not reacting to the alternative video. I find this vid so much more powerful, because you can see Chris Martin's emotions while performing. Also that speech at the end is extremely touching and wholly represents Coldplay's personal attitude towards humanity.

I find it a difficult song to listen to, although not for the reason it was actually written for. It's meant to be about losing a friendship or a relationship ending and remembering it fondly, but for me it reminds me of people who I've lost and are no longer here. It's probably the same feeling for most people who listen to it.
