Personally, I'm fine with you not delving into the lyrics too much. Lyrical interpretation can be way too subjective and personal. Musical analysis, on the other hand, can help someone like me who might not be into a certain style appreciate what the band brings to the table. Like this song, for example. Totally not my style, but hearing/seeing you break down the pieces of the song and how it's presented, I can appreciate it. A lot. Don't get me wrong: if you want to dive into the lyrics, go for it. I won't complain. Just saying don't feel obligated. Cheers. :-)
@joshuatapp34474 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Lyrical interpretation and appreciation is a completely separate thing from musical analysis, and musical analysis takes far more training. I'm here for the musical analysis.
@surfdeprived4 жыл бұрын
Agreed, too. Lyrics can be interpreted and made personal. Musical analysis is foreign for most of us... and even for those that it's not, you can still bring something someone else missed.
@aarinmiles9904 жыл бұрын
Completely agree you give such insight into the music production which is more a signature for your reactions and what makes them distinct from others. I'd hate to see you lose focus on the production breakdown to focus just on the lyrical content.

Lyrics though are what makes it hard for me to enjoy some of the musically technical and talented groups you react to. sometimes because they sing in another language so i have no idea but other times because I can't relate to what they are singing about or sometimes when I can relate to what they are singing about but feel like their musical talent is way way ahead of their writing ability. :D If I had to choose between Technically Sophisticated Music with Meh Message vs Not Quite So Technically Sophisticated Music with Interesting/Thoughtprovoking Message, I would pick the second one every time. and actually some of the most amazing music emotionally isn't even all that technical or sophisticated. Okay, there is my 2 cents, i will shush up now and just keep watching and learning. Also i realized today this is the only yt channel that i have watched literally every second of every video, even though most of the bands i dont really like too much. :D
