His moves to this song in Vegas 1970 are legendary. He toned it down in the '73 Aloha From Hawaii concert because it was the first concert being seen by satellite worldwide. 😂 You want to see sone interaction between Elvis and his fans watch a video of Love Me Tender in Vegas. 🤣😂🤣 I saw him in concert twice in '72. The second time was a present for my 11th birthday but I was too shy and scared to go up abd get my birthday kiss on the cheek when they asked the birthday girls to come up to the stage. About 5 years later on a dreadful day in August 1977 I wanted to kick myself for being such a coward.

Elvis is the King for a reason! We will never see another performer like him ever again! Truly a once in a lifetime personality! I've seen the movie and overall it was good and I do recommend it to watch at least once! My dad was actually an Elvis impersonator for many years and I travelled around with him as his sound and light tech it was a lot of fun bringing Elvis to life! The people would just go bonkers despite the fact he was just an impersonator lol! to many its just the memory of the single greatest performer to ever walk this planet! You don't have to like him to appreciate who he is and what he's done for music as a whole! Long live the King!

He's the greatest singer to ever live when you dive into the catalogue and realize he sang every genre of music, even semi-operatic, at the highest level and had an octave range more than twice of a regular pop star and could sing all parts of a 4-person quartet. While Chuck Berry called him the greatest who ever was or will ever be and BB King said they got it right when they named him 'King.' And no less than Placido Domingo said that if he could have chosen to have any voice in the world it would have been that of Elvis. And Pavarotti said the difference between Elvis and the three tenors was that Elvis could do what they did (See 'Hurt' from Elvis' last concert), but they couldn't do what he was capable of. You'll also get tons of views, I'm sure, by going down the Elvis Rabbit Hole. Therefore, just so as to get a little taste of everything, I would recommend the following: So for the pure Elvis, just being Elvis rockin' out, check out 'Trying to Get to You' from the 68' Comeback Special, as he also lays to rest the nonsensical rumor that he couldn't play guitar with this one. For pop, 'Such a Night; Country - U.S. Male; Gospel - You'll Never Walk Alone; Soul - Long Black Limousine; Pitch Perfect Singing - Bridge Over Troubled Water from Elvis: That's the Way It Is; Ballad - They Remind Me Too Much of You; Semi-operatic - 'Hurt' from his last CBS TV Special.... It was only weeks before he died and he should have never been on that stage, but his amazing voice never failed him. What Now My Love; It's Over; You Gave Me a Mountain from the Aloha TV special are all great, too. Really, almost anything he did is awesome w/the possible exception of some of the movie songs which he absolutely hated doing, but was contractually obligated to do. Polk Salad Annie; I just Can't Help Believin', Just Pretend; The Sound of Your Cry; Sylvia, etc. There are just so, so many fabulous songs!!!

Popular one to react to and important around this time of year that probably always, is the finale of his 1968 Comeback Special Christmas show where he did a song that was a tribute to Martin Luther King. He was devastated by the assassination not long before and it wasn't far from Graceland. So he blocked his manager and everything else and insisted on using his platform to do this social message as the finale of the show. Many people consider to be one of his greatest performances. It is mind-blowing. It's the one where he is in a white suit with a red tie with a big Elvis backdrop behind him.

One of Elvis’s first concerts in Hawaii was March 25th, 1961. Plans to create the USS Arizona Memorial took shape in the 1950s, but by 1960, less than half of the $500,000 needed was raised. Presley's manager, Col. Tom Parker, thought a benefit concert would provide positive publicity for the singer, who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1960. Presley performed at a benefit concert that raised more than $54,000 for the memorial fund. Elvis, didn’t take a dime for the performance, every penny went toward the memorial fund. That’s why he’s the king.

Aloha from Hawaii was broadcast live across the world with a (est) historic record 1.5 BILLION viewers (though that number is questionable. It was a LOT in any case) across 40 countries. it was the 1st live worldwide satellite broadcast. (I saw this live when it was broadcast in the US (small delay from original broadcast)). No, this concert was not the first worldwide satellite broadcast. That was in June 1967 for the Our World satellite broadcast where The Beatles sang "All You Need is Love". You've never saw him perform until now! You're just like me but I'm much older. Years ago I played his records & heard him on the radio but I never saw him perform until 1973. I was just 16 and watched him via satellite! Yes in this Aloha from Hawaii Special. Been a big fan ever since. The outfit he's wearing in this clip was called the RED, WHITE & BLUE AMERICAN EAGLE outfit. See the red & blue eagle wings across his chest on the white fabric. Did I like the 2022 Elvis movie? Oh yes I loved, loved, loved it. Seeing it made me nostalgic for Elvis so I revisted Graceland in December of 2022. I saw the Graceland home all light up at Christmas this time. I also went to 2 new exhibits that weren't there on my first trip. After seeing the Graceland mansion a tour bus took us across the street to see the Elvis Automobile Museum exhibit first. It was full of his cars, boats & motorcycles. Next I headed straight to the Elvis Costumes Museum exhibit & I just HAD to find the 1973 Aloha outfit! When I did I got a picture of me standing right by it to treasure forever. Anyway, see the 2022 Movie. Take it from a long time fan IT'S OSCAR WORTHY and most importantly Priscilla Presley & Lisa Marie Presley agree.

Elvis was a beautiful person. He gave all he could to us. I will always admire him regardless of what others think and say about him. Above all, he was human. He is with his parents, daughter and grandson now. My deep condolences to Priscilla.

I've been an Elvis fan ever since I first got into "pop" music as a teen. I'd planned to go and see him perform live but he died before I got a chance. I was 14. I was devastated by his death. This song is my favourite of his later music. Elvis moves like no - one ever , ever has before or since in my opinion. Elvis is mesmeric. I love, love, love your reaction. I reacted along with you to every moment. I too am envious of those who got to see him live!

Carlie, I’m SO glad you reacted to this classic! When you react to Angelina’s cover (…soon?😬🙏🤞) you’ll find out why! BTW, you mentioned “leg jiggles”… you may be thinking of one of his nicknames… “Elvis the pelvis”! You also mentioned Lisa Marie’s passing. Angelina did a beautiful tribute to her which is sad but worth reacting to. Thanks Carlie.

Elvis was my first concert! 1972, I was 10 years old. Awesome memory! Went with my mother. She was a big time Elvis fan and saw him several times. Even was handed a scarf by Elvis. She still has it framed with 2 tickets to a concert that he died before it was to take place.

Love you Carlie!!! There's another version of Elvis singing this one where he ROCKS OUT!!! REAL ELVIS DANCING!!! He must have been warned about his 'shenanigans' (very sexually suggestive 'dancing') in Hawaii. One of the back up singers in the video I'm talking about is Whitney Houston's mom and he teases the crap out of her!!! It's PURE ELVIS!!! Also, you need to listen to Elvis' "In The Ghetto"!!! ...just as relevant today as it was when he sang it. 🖖🤓👍 ❤❤❤❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Elvis 2022 was the best movie ever made about Elvis and I have seen a lot of them being 52yrs old . I was only 4 when Elvis Live from Hawaii aired and 8 when he died, just 1 year younger Lisa Marie. Austin Butler that starred as Elvis didn't portray Elvis he became Elvis and has already won a Golden Globe for best actor and I am positive he will win the Oscar. He even got the approval of both Priscilla (Elvis's ex wife) and Lisa Marie who got to see him win his 1st award. You should listen to An American Trilogy or If I Can Dream that he wrote after MLK was assassinated. They are two of my favorite Elvis song's. He studied karate so he incorporated it a lot into his live performances. All I knew about Elvis growing up was that one of my aunts was obsessed with him until after he died and I became a fan after visiting Graceland as a teenager.

Carlie you were long overdue to react to Elvis just as you were for Angelina Jordan. Elvis didn't like being called The King but to his fans he was. There can be no doubt about his talent and his appeal. I suggest you react to Angelina Jordan's version of this classic song, written by Mark James. Angelina's version is so different from Elvis's and I love them both. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIXFfJuhmMqFZpI

Elvis loved his fans, but especially the ladies. Age did not matter he gave them all the attention he could. Even though he was past his prime vocally he put on a show. Elvis didn't take care of himself enough. His people tried as much as he would let them. It all took it's toll. He had a couple of good years after this, but it went steadily downhill from here. It's hard to believe that only four years after this he would be gone. Thanks for your reaction Carlie.

Er, past his prime, vocally? Forgive me, but that is nonsense. Unchained Melody, and Hurt, performed just 6 weeks before his death, and 4 1/2 years later than this, were regarded, quite rightly, as tour de force vocal performances, despite his precarious health. Not to mention the albums he released. Physically, he certainly deteriorated in the last year of his life, but vocally, never. A lovely weekend to you, David
