To be objective, I don't think I've ever seen a singer with vocal abilities and singing power like Elvis's in history. He knew how to manipulate and do things with his voice like no artist did after or before him and that is a fact.

You nailed it man. He had the perfect storm of vocal power and range, unbelievable good looks, and the most charisma and stage presence I've ever seen by any performer ever. From the same '68 Comeback Special, check out "If I Can Dream" and the gospel medley. Plus, from Vegas 1970 "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Just Pretend", "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "Polk Salad Annie". From 1972 "Never Been To Spain" and "How Great Thou Art", and from Hawaii in 1973 "An American Trilogy" and "Steamroller Blues". Great stuff man.

Check out: If I can dream from the 68 come back special Elvis had a singing career, then he went into the Army. He was discharged from the US Army in 1960 after which he did one movie after another. His come back was him coming back to his signing career.

Elvis did have motorcycles along with his cars. He was such a gorgeous man. I got to see him in 1972. There will never be another Elvis. Women loved him and few guys, too. You go to Memphis and see his home, Graceland.

This is why no matter how talented an impersonator is they can't perfectly imitate Elvis's singing. It wasn't just the range and power of his voice. It was the emotion in his voice, his charisma, his swag and his showmanship on *top* of all that vocal talent. Elvis was a true anomaly in this xas it's the most visited hôme 2nd to the White House.

He was born in 1935, very poor in a black ghetto in !Mississippi, he burst on the scene in 1956 when I as 12, he was so shocking to the post war 50's he was banned because he danced and sang too sexy. I flipped he was the o most beautiful thing I ever saw He changed music and culture. He was the first rock super star and still is loved world wide . He sings every kind of music from gospel to opera. You'd love "If I Can Dream " from this same special. He loved people and gave away almost as much as he made. He was very sick the last 3 years of his life and died of a heart attack in1977. Thank you for listening to Elvis

It is so wonderful that you young people are FINALLY discovering Elvis's music. I have been a fan for over 50 years. God created the world in 7 days. On the 8th day, he created Elvis. God was showing off his BEST work. May I suggest you listen to his Gospel: Where Did They Go Lord (official audio), I Really Don't Want To Know, and live Johny B. Goode New Edition 25th Anniversary. Also, Danny Boy. Elvis had IT before IT was discovered. There is no better male entertainer/singer period. Watch his live performances from his Hawaiian Special...particularly You Gave Me A Mountain. Enjoy!

I was thrilled to see a new face reacting to Elvis Presley. For just your raw honest emotional reaction, I decided to jump on board and subscribe only in the hopes that you would play more Elvis. I strongly suggest that maybe you should start from the beginning with the video jailhouse rock scene from the movie jailhouse rock. Another suggestion would be suspicious minds but only do the reaction to the live Las Vegas version I believe in 1972 or 73 but it must be Las Vegas not the aloha from Hawaii concert. Another suggestion do Polk salad Annie live Las Vegas I believe the same year 1972, 1973? I hope that I see more Elvis reactions. I know you have to do other entertainers obviously but I subscribed only with that hope. God bless young man and thank you.

The "68 Come Back Special" is a dramatic story all on its own. It's his first live performance in years following his time away in the army. The song he performed in this sit-down portion of the show are his old hits from his early days. Since the world of pop/rock music had changed so much while he was gone (especially with the appearance of the Beatles and the advent of the so-called "British Invasion") he didn't know if his fans would still like him or, indeed, if anyone would like him as a performer anymore. Man, was he in for a surprise! The King solidified his presence as a cultural icon that lives on today. (Watch Baz Luhrmann's 2022 biopic, simply entitled "ELVIS", to really get the whole story. What a ride!

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis. One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

Elvis, apparently, was much better looking in the flesh than he already was on screen and in photos. Hard to believe. So many women and (heterosexual) men openly said he was the most beautiful human being they'd ever seen. Also that he was one of the nicest people one could imagine. Just watch these clips of various celebrities talking about Elvis: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5Wyl6OOnJuipJI various people about Elvis Goldie Hawn 8:33, kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6vRoYCIeNt-bNU BB King, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXaVdKV3p9CUqrs Nancy Sinatra (Frank Sinatra's daughter), kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJu8XqaJa9d5esU Kurt Russell (who acted opposite Elvis age 10 and who also played Elvis in a movie), kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3fLeIyVqLumnK8 kurt russell, kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2ecfZJmm5eYpJY Jerry Reed (who wrote and played guitar on Guitar Man and who starred in many Burt Reynolds movies), kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6vYhXRrerhsnKM walter matthau richard egan jerry lieber jerry schilling (Walter Matthau played opposite Elvis in King Creole, Richard Egan played opposite Elvis in Love Me Tender), kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3-ZlXWKoblmfqM Ed Ashner (played opposite Elvis in Kid Galahad and Change of Habit), kzbin.info/www/bejne/noipcmVvqbSoopY Harry Morgan (starred with Elvis in Frankie & Johnny), kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6jWpn5pqLengqs Mac Davis (singer songwriter who wrote In the Ghetto), kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4TSl36vrr6Hoqs Joe Namath (veteran football player), kzbin.info/www/bejne/hF6udY1tepiGbaM Bruno Kirby (actor and fan). It's crazy to think that Elvis has been dead longer than he has lived, yet his fandom is still growing. Passed away at 42 and now gone for 47 years. The fun part of Elvis was his smirk. That wasn't because he was full of himself, but because he remained baffled to some degree that people were going so crazy/hysterical over him. In the 1968 Singer (later dubbed Comeback) Special there's a moment when he's delivering a scripted line and Charlie Hodge interrupts him to pick a piece of tissue off his cheek. Elvis had just wiped the sweat off his face with a tissue a girl in the audience gave him and a little piece got stuck on his face without him being aware of it. Charlie got the piece of tissue off of Elvis' cheek and gave it to a girl in the audience who then, seriously, proceeded to PUT IT IN HER PURSE!!!! Elvis saw it and was both amused and embarrassed and said "Never ceases to amaze me, boy, I tell ya." while shaking his head in embarrassed disbelief.

The upstairs of Graceland was the only place Elvis could go for privacy. The upstairs has been closed off ever since Elvis died as a matter of respect. His daughter, Lisa Marie said that it would never be open to the public as long as she was alive. Since her passing, her daughter, Riley Keough has kept it closed; hopefully, it'll stay that way. Next to the White House, Elvis's home, Graceland, is the 2nd most visited home in the U.S. with up to 600,000 visitors a year.

If you want THE Best Elvis LIVE Performances: 5) Lawdy Miss Clawdy (68 Comeback Special) 4) Tryin to Get to You (68 Comeback Special) 3) Unchained Melody (1977 ) 2) American Trilogy (Aloha From Hawaii) And, in my opinion, THE Greatest performance of this song by ANY artist, including Frank Sinatra: 1) My Way (June 1977)
