❣Aside from Jimin writing the lyrics, composing the melody, as well as being involved in producing the song, Jimin was also involved in the production of the MV. It was his idea to have the set designed like a circular prison. He was also hands on involved with the choreography. It was Jimin’s idea also to go shirtless in second half, with the writing on Jimin’s torso, all his idea, the German words of well known famous 19th century Austrian poet, Widening Circles, Written by Rainer Maria Rilke. ❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, which aside from the two main choreographers, he had a hand in, offering suggestions, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production, even the set design of the MV. Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! . No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released last yr on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Jimin’s other songs “Face-Off”, “Alone”, as well as hidden track “Letter” are all equally amazing! Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white.

The feeling I had when this first dropped, omg. Just a bit of extra information on this MV: The set is designed to resemble a panopticon, a circular prison where prisoners can be observed at all times by invisible watchers hidden in a central tower (though the tower was absent from the set). And the writing on Jimin's torso is a German poem called Widening Circles by Rainer Maria Rilke that Jimin asked to have written on him for the MV. The translated poem reads: I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world. I may not complete this last one but I give myself to it. Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. U can listen to the song with no CCs but then listen again with them on. Many do this. It's ok. Great MV. Jimin ult here, Suga wrecker OT7. The vocals, wow. The visuals, i had shivers. Powerful for sure. This was 100% new. 0.0 I am like stunned. Shoock really. Go Jimin!!! No one but Anitra @saywhatreacts and Rosan @xCeleste has mentioned he used some aspects of Lie choreo in his new song. And ON vibes for sure. ON inspo. Heard this was the last song in the album Face. Like dang! 0.0 So glad u loved it. =0} So much symbolism too. So deep. I adored the dance practice! Oh my gosh. Some choreo reminded me of Jackson Wang song called Blow. The more i watch the more i find things i did not notice on the 1st watch. The body tat German poem is beautiful and very fitting. Heard Sienna Lalau worked on this choreo with a team. She is a young choreographer that has worked with them in the past. Very talented. UCLA choir was used again. They use them all the time on songs. The spiral/ the golden ratio, shell, 9, metaphors used as usual. The moon series of tats on his back is real. His Nevermind tat on his ribs is real and his 13 tat on his wrist is real too. The German poem on his chest tat was temporary. Jimin also has a 7 tat bet. his fingers on one hand. He has young forever tat above his elbows and youth behind his ear. But we did not see these in this MV. But showing his tats is another sign to us and himself that he is free. I suggest u check DG @DGReacts reaction to the song. He breaks it down really well. Jimin is the 2nd main dancer in BTS after Jhope. Jimin is contemporary dance trained and hip hop too. He is also a martial artist and creates his own style of dance that is really captivating to watch. Jimin has my fav vocal. I adore his voice. His an angel! =0] I suggest u watch the behind the scenes for this and dance practice too. This song is from his 1st solo album and it's a reflection of how he felt during the pandemic. Being apart from the fans really hurt him. Jimin is very kind, caring and sweet guy. He suffered a lot mentally like the others during the pandemic. They were supposed to have toured for the last time and than enlisted. But all of that got changed because of covid. Jimin is the charmer of the group. He is attractive to men and women.
