Kara was HUGE back in the early 2010s. They and T-Ara were rival groups to SNSD and their company DSP Media was pretty much neck in neck with the Big 3 companies. They're another one of those groups who could handle so many different concepts and switched them like its an outfit. Mister is definitely a must listen.

Not only was KARA among the biggest groups in Korea, but they were THE biggest Korean group in Japan!

Actually, dsp is one of the big 3 companies in the first. They are SM, JYP, and DSP. But, when they changed the management, dsp wasn't longer the big 3 anymore naturally.

Can't wait to see your reaction to "Mister." The song is known for that infamous dance, not going to spoil it for you, haha. They started finding success as the years went on. Their first album didn't do well, mainly because the general public did not vibe with "Break It" and they were constantly compared to Fin.K.L. who were their seniors and they were an iconic group. But by the late 00's, they started finding success in Korea and between 2010-2012, they got very popular in Japan, selling as much as a typical J-pop group.

They started to get recognision with honey, but mister was their fame bomb Japan LOVED Kara!!!!!! Every time i see my baby girl go hara i get teary eyed... miss you

Break it is honestly one of my favorite songs of all time. STEP may be my absolute favorite but Break it is a song that not many people know but I still discovered on my own, loving to listen and dance to it.

I am so glad you're watching Kara!! Since they debuted on the same year as SNSD and were popular at the same time they interacted a lot and I've learned a lot about Kara through stanning SNSD, I love their discography and they are so fun to watch on variety! My opinion on these 3 songs: Break it - a really solid debut, it's a shame it wasn't that successful cause it's a banger. Pretty Girl - I can't help but love pretty girl because I absolutely adore nonsense english in kpop and what's better than "if you wanna pretty every wanna pretty"? nothing Honey - every time i listen to this song I need to do the pinky finger/thumb dance in the chorus, even when I'm on public transportation i do the moves discreetly cause it's that addicting lol Excited for the latter parts of the request because as much as I like these 3 songs, Kara's music only get better with time

Love some nonsense English. 2nd Gen was full of it (part of why 2nd Gen was so awesome). I too learned of KARA, and many other groups, through following SNSD. Most of my early playlist was built from groups with members on the show Invincible Youth (which "starred" two members of SNSD). I miss those oldschool shows where they would hang out in the Korean countryside playing games, cooking food, and bopping to each other's songs.

@@PongoXBongo Oh I loved Invincible Youth!! It was so hilarious and charming, G7 (and Shinyoung) had incredible chemistry as castmates, it truly was such a special show! Wow, the memories are flooding in, if I close my eyes I can see the ending sequence of pictures from the episode with All About You by McFly playing in the background...

At that time when i first heard SNSD, Wonder Girls and Kara’s debut songs and saw the MV’s, i was about 19. Kara’s Break It was definitely my favorite out of the three because of Seunghee’s vocals (the one who floated across the screen with the blue cap and white sweatshirt).

Everytime I hear the intro to Honey tears form in my eyes. It was my first Kara song and just brings back so many memories of my first year in Kpop. Hara you are dearly missed. ❤

Wow, it's definitely been awhile since I saw these three MVs! I remember every time I opened the music channels for the K-Pop hour, Honey would always be played within that hour lol. My absolute favorite songs from them are Lupin (The Boyz covered them during a KCON, I think?), Step, and Pandora~ I can't wait for you to dive deeper into them!

omg yes one of my favorite groups of all time! the iconicity edit: the members change from break it to rock u (when one member left and they added 2 making them the 5 we came to know more) and from damaged lady to mamma mia (when 2 members left and they added one becoming 4 again)

In a way, KARA and Dreamcatcher had similar starts in that they re-debuted with new members and massive concept changes. And both went on the much greater success thanks to the changes.

Kara’s first member line up (with Ex member Seunghee) did live performances of their song “Secret World” that was from their first album and i highly recommend you check out the live performances on your own time. Their live vocals were soooo good for a new kpop group. Just like in Break it, they had a lot of adlibs near the end of the song and it was 💯

Ah man I'm so surprisingly pleased to see you react to Kara! Especially honey! Honey and pretty girl were one of my absolute fav songs in 2008/09. Kara is and will always stay special to me just like T-ARA and snsd. Those 3 were my fav groups ever and also my first girl groups I ever found out and loved about. I’m always happy when people in these days react to KARA ❤️ They are my UB girls group since 2008/2009 (started to stan them in end of 2008 and became Kamilia in the beginning of 2009). They are my number 1 girls group of all time. I hope you will like their other songs as well. Guys stop asking for a Mister reaction... It can't happen... The only Mister MV is Japanese, which is basically auto-block and any live performances in Korean are asking for a block. As a long time Kamilia(2nd Gen girl groups are the best), I wish it weren't so. We're just going to have to understand that one of the most iconic songs of 2009 won't get reaction.
