Yay! these songs are all a bop really and I'm hoping still that more reactors and people know about them. Thank you for reacting to them! Moonbyul really is my bias in mamamoo because of how she speaks out about gender norms in SK and also how cool she is generally. She has a very kind and caring heart but also her child inside is still active. All these girls are really standing up for diff topics that are challenging social norms and its not only Moonbyul but also Wheein, Solar & Hwasa. They are real, hardworking and work so hard for their fans. I love them a lot.

Your theory for Hwasa is almost right. The lyrics direct to “pull the rotten teeth out” and they wanted to portray that visually. Wanna Be Myself is a CF btw :D

Congrats on 10K subs. Idon't want to win anything but Solar is my bias because her voice kills me and not just because of the power belting - she can make me tear up just by bending a note. I'm not a fan of the disco trend in kpop and Wanna Be Myself is one of the few songs by MMM I don't like. I think the song you were reminded of in the chorus is Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. Dingga is Mamamoo's attempt to cheer us up while we're socially distant and I absolutely love them for that. Interesting and perceptive comments on Aya, esp on the first view. I was too blown away to think coherently the first time I watched it. You might be right that Hwasa's character was Tooth Decay lol since it's a breakup song and both partners are bad for each other. I took her character as a Dominatrix Dentist to signify the extraction of her lingering feelings for the lover - painful but necessary. I think you're right about Solar's ghost character but the key part is the unibrow, which Solar said was inspired by Frida Kahlo. Solar admires Frida's endurance, independence and success despite living in pain from an accident where her pelvis was impaled. I think Solar ritualistically impales the bowl of her tears at the end to affirm her intention to move on with her life despite the pain of the relationship. I thought the set & costumes for Aya were derived from the orientalist art & stage designs of 100+ years ago rather than Chakra. I think there might be a connection with Scheherazade because of the similarity to Leon Bakst's set & costume designs for the Ballet Russes production. Scheherazade tells the Arabian Nights tales to survive her marriage one day & story at a time. Obviously Aya isn't telling the same story but each member's character has to find her own way to survive the relationship breakup so perhaps, as with Frida Kahlo, the connection is empowerment via survival. Wheein would be Scheherazade since she's the only one that doesn't play a character outside the orientalist world they establish. The other three role play blatantly fictional creations as though they're acting out the fantastical stories Wheein tells. But none of that is made explicit in the MV so it's just my interpretation, fwiw.

To me Aya>Wanna Be Myself>Dingga. Wanna be myself is a commercial film..hence those very casual outfit LOL. Even if it's an ad, I really like Solar's with lace-y table cloth scene. Even if disco becomes overused in KPop this year, a good song is just a good song 😁 And I haven't heard such calm drop after a build-up like that in KPop song this year. So agree with Byul's outfit on Dingga 🔥 big bow suits her so well. Dingga is a fun quarantine anthem (the lyrics is so relatable) 🎉 but I think we have a same taste on music. Dingga sounds mediocre to me. The dancebreak and woooo-ahh~ part save the song. You hear the deep ass bass on Aya's chorus? Uhlalaaaa Also loving the brass part ❤️ You mention about how the song and the MV is like 2 different things...what's crazy is (IMHO) if you listen to the audio only, with a good earphone...this songs somehow *sounds different* I thought I'm the only one! Your analysis in Aya 👍👍👍 nailed it.

Just curious, Why don't you turn CC on, so you can read the lyrics? So you can understand what the songs are about? Almost all of the questions you asked during this video would have been answered if you had read the lyrics during the videos. The only thing you couldn't have known unless you actually follow Mamamoo is that "Wanna Be Myself" is a CF for a company called Andar, and that is why it is colored the way it is (because the company wanted it that way), and the members are posing, and wearing those clothes because they are outfits sold by the Andar. Also, the only actual comeback is "Aya", like I said above, "Wanna Be Myself" is a CF, and "Dingga" was the pre-release before "Aya". :)
