Hey LOU, Its appreciated you trying to simplify in explanation but #NCT has a total of 26 members; they started out with 18 then 21 to 23 members but SM decided to move fairly new members SUNGCHAN & SHOTARO from NCT to debut with #RIIZE. On that note, LUCAS was wrongly boycotted/forced out by allegations of gaslighting & such (other story that I wont get into) but later on the long awaited first Japanese unit called NEW TEAM during pre-debut aka NCT WISH and prior to that NCT DOJAEJUNG trio unit debuted consist of DOYOUNG, JAEHYUN and JUNGWOO. NCT WISH are the new YOUNGSTERS of the mega group now that JISUNG the former overall youngest no longer a baby and LUCAS had returned to the spotlight making his solo debut about a month ago.

NCT is 26 members total. There were 23 in 2020. 3 members left and 6 were added in the form of NCT wish.

I think because when you look them up online, on Hallyu Idol website it shows 22. When they had a survival show last year for the newest NCT group, they had 2 set members who were going to debut. That’s why online it may look like 22 members (20 original members plus the newest 2) and not the other members. They’re still fairly new so there probably isn’t much info on them online.

SM Entertainment actually hired a movie fight trainer and martial arts coach to teach the members of NCT-127 how to do the kicks, punches and use the nunchucks, etc. for their "Kick It" MV. If you really want to see how they filmed the MV and song, you should watch the behind the scenes of them recording "Kick It", kzbin.info/www/bejne/naeam6JuZb5-l9U, and the behind the scenes of them filming the MV, kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4CYhZdjmKl3Y6s. You will be even more impressed when you see how much work and detail went into this MV. This might even help you to get to know the members better because they will use their names in the English subs when the members do the behind-the-scenes interviews while filming. In the "Kick It" MV there are 9 members -- *Taeyong (leader of all of NCT, main rapper and dancer), Taeil (main vocalist), *Johnny (lead vocalist and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocalist), Doyoung (main vocalist), *Jaehyun (main vocalist and sub-rapper), Jungwoo (main vocalist), *Mark (main rapper and dancer) and Haechan (main vocalist). It's interesting how most people don't get all the references to Bruce Lee in "Kick It" (Chinese/Korean title "Hero"), even though everything is based on being like Bruce Lee -- hence why they say Bruce Lee like a hundred times in the song LOL -- and black and yellow are Bruce Lee's signature colors -- so, that is why "Kick It" used those colors. (Many say this MV reminds them of the Movie "Kill Bill," without realizing that movie is based on Bruce Lee-style action movies and is sort of a homage to Bruce Lee.) As you can see, part of the choreography where they rub their thumb on the side of their nose is done because it's a signature Bruce Lee move. Bruce Lee is a Chinese action hero, so even though this is one of the Korean sub-units of NCT, those are Chinese characters you see on the signs in the MV, etc. NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- currently has 26 members. And the group right now as a whole has 5 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream, WayV and NCT-WISH. Therefore, their style is meant to be new and original with elements that embrace different cultures and technologies to create their sound. What you are struggling to put into words and categorize is just called NCT-style, they don't really have a traditional music style that you can attach to them. And, switching up the beat and style of the song in the middle of the song is pretty much how the majority of NCT songs are structured, as well as SM Entertainment's songs in general. It's kind of SM's signature style. You will hear that same thing happen in a lot of the songs you listen to from SM. NCT-127 is NCT's second sub-unit, which debuted in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit, so the member lineup stays the same most of the time. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world, which means it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world. NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 11 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and new members Sion and Daeyoung), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), 5 Japanese members (Yuta and new members Riku, Yushi, Ryo and Sakuya), *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best dancers and singers in the industry. That is just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing singing and dance skills. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, who also happens to have some of the industry's top dancers. SM is an expert at finding and developing the best singers and dancers in Kpop. Also, if you like their dancing you have to check out the dance practice video for "Kick It," kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIaVdXWgha-af5Y, because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. SM is the company that founded the Kpop industry with the very first Kpop idol group H.O.T. (High-five Of Teenager) back in 1996, and it's now one of the top entertainment companies around the world. NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's original goal was to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. That is why right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with all English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc., WayV produces songs in Mandarin and English and promotes in China and NCT-WISH is NCT's Japanese sub-unit that that produces songs in Korean and Japanese. So, this year is NCT's 8th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies (or the new members who were part of a reality survival show called LASTART), so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.

Loved the way the guy in the beanie was going to argue the case if anyone dared to say that Baekhyun isn't the best vocalist! I've just started to get into Baekhyun's music and I totally agree. Glad to have it confirmed that I've found kpop's best singer. I'm sure some people will disagree. Let me know if there are others I should be listening to. I also agree with him on the second best...Doyoung is great!! I'm really pleased you are daring to introduce your friends to kpop. I feel you may have to overcome their prejudices stemming from western "boy bands" - kpop is not the same...(they've levelled up...big time!)... and it takes time for some people from the west to get that. Fingers crossed they start to see it.

The yellow is from Bruce Lee not Kill Bill. The yellow in Kill Bill is also from Bruce Lee. I agree with Baekhyun and Doyoung. Taeil is also on Doyoung’s level. I THINK officially Taeil is the vocal leader of the group. I also agree that to me NCT 127 is one of the best groups in kpop. I don’t know exactly where at the top but I know they’re up there. I recommend Ay-Yo and Regular. But if you’re interested I would recommend you watch NCT 127 Killing Voice on the KZbin channel called Dingo. If you’re not familiar… it’s soooo good!! It’s a medley of songs but small parts so it doesn’t really spoil the whole thing and you could still do reaction videos for those. Great reaction!

The concept of NCT in terms of groups; is actually very simple. NCT is the name of the mega group that consists of many members; then you have sub-units which consists of various members. Some members are in one sub units some are in multiples. That’s it. It’s not that complicated.

I saw them perform this at the Houston Rodeo and as we were walking out they announced it was getting shut down cause of COVID. They didn’t perform it again for YEARS Also, as much as I love my boy Baek, Taeil is the best vocalist. Hands down.

@4PM IN PHX, Lo , NCT 127’s album Neo Zone was released on January 27, 2020 and with their song “Dreams Come True” that shortly came out after the album release date. March 6, 2020 is when, Kick it “ was released and covid may have put a little damper on the song but it’s still did very well on the charts especially the Geon Charts! The biggest song of that year released August 21, 2020 was the Bomb 💣 drop for BTS. “Dynamite“ was released and became No.1, not only on the GEON Korean charts but worldwide especially the United States billboard hot 100 chart! NCT 127 had six months of popularity but unfortunately to NCT 127, BTS ‘s “Dynamite “🧨 obliterated K-pop as well as international music when it comes to “Dynamite“ breaking KZbin records as well as Guinness book records etc. yes NCT 127 didn’t have much of a chance regardless if it was pandemic time BTS dominated all the charts and the K-pop television shows. Lo ,sorry to burst your bubble of “Kick it”after “ Dynamite “, was released nobody in K-pop had a chance not even NCT 127 Mianhae🙏🏼 BoraHae 💜

While I agree Baekyun is phenomenal, I wouldn't say best. And since "best" by it's nature is a subjective term, there will always be people who will disagree with anyone saying something or someone is "the best'. So he is the best, in your and many other's opinions. I would say he's definitely in the top 5. I'd add Yesung, Taeil, Doyoung and Chen in no particular order. If I absolutely had to put one on top I think it would be Yesung.

This reaction was more like you trying to convince the other two how NCT 127 and KPOP deserves respect. The one dude seemed to make fun of it and the other just was bored. I am a former US/Cali choreographer, director and judge of competition performances. Where else are you going to find 1. singers 2. rappers 3. difficult dancing 4. constant formation changes 5. complete choreography all in one song? Does America do that at all? Stop trippin and give credit where credit is due. Americans WILL NOT devote to their career to the point of living, eating, sleeping, practicing, rehearsing, traveling and performing together for 8 years of contract. I didn't appreciate the lack of maturity.

As an Nctizen, Kick it isn’t their best song, I don’t think it’s a good one to introduce people to them with. I think it’s one of their worst songs tbh. I think Limitless (performance version), Ay-yo, and Regular (the English version) are the best ones to show newbies ….I never go wrong with those. Then I’d Follow those with Favourite, NCT2018 and now the Killing voice video as extras.
