Ronnie's mom left his family when he was young, in his early life he turned to drugs and ended up in prison. His brother died in an accident and left him in a really dark place, im not gonna say I know how he felt. He ended up having a daughter, Willow, and found his will to live thanks to her. The music video is about others in the position he was in, and the message that it is better to feel the pain than to drown it in addiction. I think it carries a lot of weight coming from someone who has experiences like his.
