Dustin Bates, the lead singer has a Master in Electrical Engineering and researched with the USAF as well has teaching at Ohio University. As for the "it could be in a movie", the band takes that to heart, turning the band into more of an experience than a single act. For the first album, they hyped up a science/aliens conspiracy theory that promoted the band, using exclusive "leaks" etc to grow it. The second album had an entire novel written before the release as the "introduction". For the most recent album, their website was a "hack to use" website, where fans had to actually program aspects of the website in order to unlock information about the upcoming album, dates, etc. Starset is more of an experience with a soundtrack than a simple band.

This song has a Christian meaning about feeling helpless and surrounded by demons/the enemy, then asking God to help him out of it. "Take me high and I'll sing, you make everything okay. We are one in the same, you take all of my pain away. Save me if I become my demons" however the chorus, taken out of context, could be about a drug addiction
