I have the YT Decoy Elite E 8000, Carbon rims. I've heard mixed opinions on the more powerful motor! Great bikes and great price. They have gone up some with a few cuts. Mine has the fox factory post. Actually had a bad design on seat clamp. It was warranted but I had put a postman on while waiting on warranty and have never put factory one back on yet. Postman works fine. Mine does have the Crank brothers Carbon wheels, new ones are aluminium.

Love the vids, been a subscriber for a few years now... always entertaining!! So I too have a Decoy and after a year or so it starting making a rattling noise down in the bottom bracket / motor area. I've tightened every bolt and check it constantly but have yet to open up the motor to investigate inside. I'm a little apprehensive to open it but that seems like the last resort. So I'm curious if you were ever able to find the rattle on your bike or have spoken to anyone with the same issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nice objective review. I am puzzled though that on the first ride, there was already obvious motor rattle. Isn't YT testing these things, or is it "normal" that it does that ? It's quite a lot of money to be that annoying on the first ride. Otherwise nice bike, looks very beefy.

I bought your old decoy off of you! The creaking you were referring to on the 2020 was actually the fox 36 CSU not the headset, just sent it back to fox.

It’s definitely an acros thing. Regardless of what you experienced w the 36, acros headsets creak like hell

No carbon rims on the previous model. The E-13 rims were / are aluminum, so no change there. This is a common misconception because the 2019 YT Decoy, which also had bluetooth shifter, came with carbon rims. It was a pretty different bike though, despite looking the same.

I know a bunch of factors determine how far you can ride an ebike, but how many ft of climbing can someone expect on a decoy? I want to place an order for one but the smaller 540 battery has me a bit nervous on taking it for long epic rides.

A lot of factors depending , but I'd say 30 miles and 3k feet of climbing in mostly Turbo and some Trail mode.
