I have had my eye on doing the new gap line at Twisted Oaks Bikepark and I thought the first ride of 2023 was the perfect time to get it done. It was however quite tricky because the weather was not on our side at all. The trail was running pretty slow so I had to work for the speed. I managed to get the first 4 jumps done but it was the shark fin that caught me out and after riding the track a few times it became really muddy. I am definitely going back to complete the full line.
I hope you enjoy the video!
Kara :)

Congrats! I'm also scared of gap jumps or any man-made jumps really. 😁 Mostly into doing bump-jumps or getting air on naturally occurring trail features.

I love how you say you were terrified but Tom was just smiling away saying that landing was buttery smooth (which it was). Great video Kara and it's awesome that now Tom's running shoes are getting a work out filming for you. Great to see you both sharing the experience together on both sides of the camera.

Kara ,I think your progress is coming on amazing, Tom must be an amazing coach🤘👍, I think when your at a gap it’s more intimidating just looking at the jump. Happy new year 2 both of you , and Kara get back out with your mam, that video was well good. Thanks Ross cumbria.👌🤘

@@KaraBeal hey 👋🏽 Kara great riding, watch Joey Gough video she’s a good one to watch , I noticed that when you ride I think you need a bit more speed on your runs to clear the gaps , I watched her at Windhill bike park and she goes a bit faster to get the momentum on the big gaps , makes it easier I think 🧐 you’re doin good though 👍🏾👍🏾

Hey Kara! You're killing it out there! I've only just begun to work up the courage to hit small gap jumps and it feels great! You are an inspiration! On a side note, double check your music link in the description. It took me to a song and/or band called Qədrimi bilmədinki. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more shredding! 🤘

Kara looking pretty steezy at 8;30 Practice more on that enduro bike you showed us last video. It's a much lighter bike and would be easier to maneuver in the air. I know Tom wants you to do bigger stuff, but there's no reason for you to be pushed to the point that you are frightened by what you are doing each run. Tell Tom to step off and go play on his bike, while you take the time to get comfortable practicing all the areas that you already know that you can already know that you can do. Get comfortable with them, then gently add some steeze. It's all about having fun and keeping yourself safe. Great progress since last week! If weather permits try going back to doing wheelies and bunny hops on your enduro around the neighborhood. Hit some curbs, have some fun with it!

That’s a good point tbf , I had the Orbea Wild fs ebike and it’s scary on big jumps it’s so heavy it just wants to land immediately you leave the ground 😂! Unless you’re Sam Pilgrim who makes it look easy 😂!!

@@pcarts232 So true that Sam makes everything look so easy. He's such a gas to watch! I liken him to a cartoon character that can be in a disastrous crash one moment and then be perfectly fine for the very next scene.

You've definitely got rat trap when it's the right day for you👊, I've not been back on it since the rebuild but had only done the first two anyway. I found Growler easier to get over even after crashing on the hip 😀
