Great video Leonard, thank you. As someone who regularly mixes road and off road cycling my own experience is that I am more relaxed cycling off road and I enjoy stopping and taking in the nature all around me, just last night I stopped in the woods and watched a tree creeper for about 5 minutes whereas I would never have seen it on my road bike. My guess is that in the winter months when the roads are icy and slushy you won’t be on the turbo you’ll be out on the mtb. Thanks again.

Hi Leo, with MTBing keep your upper body supple and loose, it's a common issue for beginners to stiffen up shoulders and arms getting sore and tried in the process, also when the trail gets rough, take your bum off the seat and stand on your pedals level to the ground keeping your knees supple, well done on your first ride

the good thing about ebikes is that you can ride a lot further so you still get the same amount of exercise. My wife has an ebike Pedal assist for our off road cycleways and I calculated that she is getting 78% of the exercise that she would riding a standard bike. Padded kit under your cargo shorts is the go. Unlock the fork for the bumpy stuff and lock it for the hill climbs. Her bike weights 23Kgs so if no battery she knows about it

Not sure if that is an air shock, but you should adjust the pressure based on your weight. There may be something on it that you can turn to stiffen it up a bit. Generally the gear on those bikes are not great for proper mtb, but for gravel and canal paths just fine. If that is the terrain you will be on , and tarmac, consider swapping the knobblies for more of a commuter trail tyre and your rolling resistance will be considerably less..... look at Schwalbe Marathon plus or similar.... very good puncture resistance etc!

The ebike they have provided is best suited for commuting with some light rides on the weekend. I’d love to see you test ride a specialized levo or another high end ebike. On my ebike I notice that the battery drops under strain, eg going up a hill or full assist at max speed for a period. When riding on the flat it then 'recovers'. I think this is probably an electronic artefact of the way power is drawn from the battery and that the low reading is overly pessimistic. I don't believe there is any recharge from braking or downhill. I usually get 60 to 80 km out of a 48v battery with similar bafang rear hub drive and weight bike on rolling territory with moderate assist. I'll get at least 40 kms at full whack doing 40kmh all the way with a 200m climb at the end

Good stuff! Are you sure it's not pronounced Eescoot i.e. E scooter?
@jollygoodvelo3 жыл бұрын
It might be. I’ve never heard it pronounced.

Military ebikes can weigh 40 kilos for what it's worth. Pretty grueling ride with that puppy. Turning on the front shocks make for a very odd feeling when turning also.

Cargo shorts ,a tank top and grey pony tail will clear a path for you , faster than a black cape and scythe. Only better costume is wool jersey and a steel frame road bike with downtube shifters. Fetch me my Raleigh Centurion.

Would you buy one and this brand . I’ve a trek on order with a Bosch motor and expect 85k at least. Battery on your seems poor and I suspect the bike isn’t a top quality machine but I get you’ve had it sent and review.
