First Ride on KTM 125XC // Breaking In the New Bike

Dale bought this bike (my dad) because he wanted to try a lighter style bike. 2 strokes are known for having a lot of power and without sacrificing weight. This bike is amazing for trail riding, cruising, and much more. Watch the video to see his first time taking it out trail riding in beautiful central Oregon. Overall it is a great bike and worth checking out or at least comparing to other two stroke dirt bikes. It could easily be one our favorites to recommend as a somewhat beginner bike. It has a great balance between power and weight. So great to finally get it out on the trails, it didn’t disappoint.
This channel is dedicated to a father-son duo that restores old bikes to like-new. Looking forward to growing with you guys and seeing where we can take our projects.

Love it! My son and I both have the 2021xc’s and are obsessed with them. I moved from a 250f as well. Can’t wipe the smile off my face. I stuck with the stock Mikuni and it was a bear to jet at sea level in South Carolina. Waaay too rich. Dropped to a #5 slide (leaner) and made a huge difference. I’m sure that Smartcarb is fantastic.

That’s awesome! Like for like, same scenario even. They are great bikes. The smart carb is seriously a life savor. We also just received the Lectron carb for our crf250r (equivalent to smart carb). A video will be out soon comparing the two!

@@GenerationAerni I was chuckling when you cited the same reasons for moving to the 125. I’m 55 years old and am waaay faster on the 125xc, and don’t tire as fast not lugging that extra 40-50lbs around. I’ve heard great things about the Lectron too! Can’t wait to see the review. Good stuff!

Get er jetted up, switch rear tire to a 100/100, change gears every 2-3 seconds, everyone on this bike is magically turned into a teenager , these are a collector item bike, gotta get one

@@GenerationAerni was it a easy install cutting the box and all and did it make it come alive or what . i reviewed some pros and cons but it seems the smart carb would be my choice too i like the fact the choke on right side of bike and the adjusting knob at top for leaning and no replacing cable but do you think its worth the money for the responce it gives it ?

On my 2021 KTM125xc, the box has enough clearance and I didn’t have to cut it. Absolutely think it’s worth the money, the choke is absolutely right. All my adjustments can be done with no tools and I can do it on the fly. I believe it’s more responsive, but I mainly got it to not fret the jets. Ease of use.
