Registration and ins is a personal preference and varies state to state. This bike tho for where I live I may need to register it. It’s incredible and ridiculously tourqie and fast. Insurance and registration on ebikes like the Huck is a personal preference. For instance, in some states if you register you cannot take the vehicle on bike paths or trails also if you ride with the “big boys” on the road in traffic you will realize you don’t want to. If you want to use this as an everyday commuter bike you have to replace those brake pads every week with the stop and go traffic. If you do decide not to have it insured buy at least 3 different types of locks and alarms for the bike because it will be desired by thieves so add a gps tracking system on it also. Another is that you have to ride careful so you don’t hit persons and property if you don’t have insurance. Ride safe, people!!!

That's the thing about having a bike that can keep up with traffic, you have to make decisions on when you wanna be a bicycle in the bike lane or a motorcycle in the street. But having those options is quite nice. Diversity baby. Love that ride Chris.

Fantastic video. A few tips for you and current Huck owners don’t let anyone know where you put the tracking device(s), get at least 3 different types of security devices and try to get a locking device for your seat so no one can get access to the controller and battery. I know a poster mentioned this but buy some riding gear (helmet, light jacket gloves) an I know it’s California but don’t ride with sandals. Ride safe!!!

Wait. Raybans please tell me you’re wearing a motorcycle helmet. Like a full face one. You’re riding a motorcycle. You need full head protection. It’s not an ebike. You need proper protection on something like this. I’ve got an ebike that goes 33 and I almost got hit by a car running a red light. I slid when I swerved to avoid it. If I wasn’t wearing a leather jacket and full face motorcycle helmet (despite people saying it was overkill) I would have ground my nose off on the pavement and lost a good chuck of skin on my chest and shoulder. This thing goes significantly faster. You shouldn’t be riding this without a full face helmet. Trust me. The last thing you want is to realize this after an accident. Doesn’t matter how comfortable or how nice you look. Dress for the slide, not for the ride.

I got a friend who rode a Monday gen 7 and wrecked it. Wasn’t wearing pants. He was wearing shorts and woke up in the hospital with 14 staples going down the side of his knee and shin. He slid on the asphalt ripped his leg open. He’s got a permanent limp now and his bike was scrapped. He didn’t listen to me when I told him to wear proper protective gear and still apologizes for not listening. People call me a nerd and kill joy when I tell people stuff like this. But I’d rather be a nerd than end up disfigured and dead ya know? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@ShawverFilms oh! Almost forgot! A class 4 ebike means that it is an legally classified as an electric moped or electric motorcycle. If an officer sees the class 4 sticker then they’ll know that a motorcycle license, and registration is required for the vehicle. So be careful. If you get pulled over you could be arrested or ticketed for riding an unregistered motorcycle, as well as riding without an m1 license. If you don’t have one that is.

All these electric scooters,e-bikes,motorcycles. Amazing fun . I would love to buy a Tesla but out of my budget. But as for registering or not, the e-bike. It will be a must if ridden on the road. Even the web site clearly lists this as a moped status. This one is not even close to be as a bike for bike paths so I find it amusing there are pedals. I can definitely see a crackdown on these type of transportation coming soon. This is just to big and powerful. If you ever get pulled over and the cop is even somewhat knowledgeable or looks up the huck website it will definitely be an instant ticket for not registered and no insurance. Especially if they see one ridden while no helmet . Looks crazy fun though be careful and be safe.

Hey Miles. The turn signals on the Huck came directly from them. It’s an option during the “bike build”. The turn signals I have in the description are more generic that can work for most any bike. @@ShawverFilms Hi, thanks for reply! 61, back in the day off-road motorcycles didn't come with turn-signals but were easy to get and connect aftermarket. Those led flippy ones you have look great, battery voltage is easy to adjust-to I suppose yours are powered by 12 volts, someone needs to make a kit for bicycles to achieve something like that. My local store is currently selling 5 volt 10,500 milliamp rechargable batteries for $11.99 Canadian so the technology is there, just need to do it. I have front and rear Knog Big-Cobbers which are blinding-bright at 1,000 lumens but no turn-signals, the ones on my Lumos helmets are good but not as obvious so I don't trust them one bit...

So far I have got up to 57 mph and then ran out of road (well had to stop for red light) also I have only charged the bike 2 times in about 2 weeks however I don’t ride it every day. Hi Chris, I had Super 73 S2 found it very uncomfortable bike. Could you recommend any other fat tire ebike please? I don’t live in USA, hard to get any other bikes in here UK. I’m thinking buy a bike from any other countries. I don’t need very fast bike just comfortable. I did a short research and emailed to couple companies. What do you think about “Hyper Scrambler 2”? In USA you have different rules and more option in here but so much. I don’t want to register bike just ride comfortably. ☺️

I would say that its definitely personal preference. That said I changed out my seat and handlebars to make it fit my comfort level better. As for other bike I like the Sur Ron and Huck. However in the Super73 price catagory you could look at the Ariel Rider Grizzly. I think thats an awesome bike too

Is it weird having bicycle pedals that basically do nothing? I love the look but I would think it would feel weird resting my feet on bicycle pedals that are necessarily uneven instead of pegs that are even. It seems like for a bike like this, pegs would be preferable and more comfortable.

Those pedals is what makes them fit into the “electric bicycle” classification. Wihout them. Then they’d be glorified Mopeds and you’d have to get them registered and get a license for them which no one wants to do. So those pedals are there for that reason to circumvent all that hassle.

Hey man, I've been through this e-moped, ebike phase, owned a huck, onyx, sur ron, zero, and a word of advice: it's just better to get an electric motorcycle, sure you have to pay for insurance and reg and deal with the DMV, but it's worth it: DC fast charging, longer range, better performance, higher top speed, and just overall better in every way except weight.
